I have homes from time to time that want to build wall framing for a non existing wall. Is this a glitch? I checked for invisible walls and there is none. I rebuild the wall framing and it goes away, a little later it comes back and I repeat the process.

I see. Definitely answers my question. Maybe that's why I have never seen them on other designer's plans in my region who do residential.

I am interested in learning more on CA construction lines. The tutorial I watched didn't go into too much detail other than making the grid in plan view and them automatically showing up in elevations. Any vids you can suggest on what they are actually used for and what info they can provide to the plan set?

Yeah i have been manually dragging dim lines here and there but want to use CA's speed of things to the fullest. It gets confusing in the settings when you do wall elevations, as an example, and it wanting to dimension things like the molding on top of cabinets which I hate so I very rarely mess with dim settings.

Nice Rob, will give it a go. thanks

I am wanting to change my interior dimensions when I drag them across the interior walls. Can we set it up to hit the edge of the exterior walls and center of interior walls? I have always just used the OOB defaults on this.

Can't you go to the new layout on sheet zero and copy and paste the template/border and then paste on sheet zero of the project layout? That is if I understood you correctly.

Dude that worked great! Keep that money hidden DB!

Can we do round trays in CA? I need to make one for an entry way chandelier. It's going to look awesome once I figure it out. I like the trey ceiling tool and how it frames the ceiling to suit but don't know about a round one.

10-4....you are correct!

To be honest, my CAD skills are better for manual things like trusses and done in Autocad and then brought over to chief. I have noticed though it seems to bog down the drawings when I do this. Maybe from all the truss openings. I worked with the owner on this since he is building it and he already had pics of the trusses he bought so I made them match.

Man, you had me going and rereading what I put haha, thanks for the upvote. I guess some clown has nothing better to do today. Whatever.....Thanks Rob!

Tone? I am confused......I was giving input on how I do pole barns on the downvote post.
-
a downvote for this.....interesting.
-
I modify the wall type for a pole barn and manually draw the trusses to look exactly like they are bought. I set up the roof to receive the purlins.

Worked perfectly. A symbol I never use. Now I Know.

Anyone know how to rotate the material on a panel/knee wall. I used a railing wall to create the screened porch. Each wall is one segment but there is a variation on the beadboard paneling I am using as well (circled). I want to clean this up and rotate the beadboard 90 deg.

Premier for the win.......spend the extra money, it's worth it.

X-14 Trim and Gutter Glitches driving me crazy
winterdd replied to Renerabbitt's topic in General Q & A
I'm just gonna stay with X13 a while. -
Not too bad of a pergola/backyard makeover just to show for reference on my sunroom addition per the client's request. Damn I love my 3080 card.
-
i sure will......

that is is the first thing I did and skipped right over "end profile". thanks man......guess I was looking for rafter tails option.
-
Fast forward 6 years later! Can we apply custom rafter tails to general framing members? Building one of these puppies now in X13.

Ok so a break at the top. Cool. Guess the sides will be the only thing faked in.

Here it is with p solids. What I don't like is the fact it won't be shown as stud walls in plan view no matter what method is used and those separation lines are bugging me on the elevation view.
