My apologies. I should have been more clear. I'm not asking for a fix, I'm asking if anyone else is having similar problems with this in X12? If your not I will continue to figure it out myself but if this is typical behavior then I wont take the time to try and fix it. Not worth it. Thank you for your reply!

Not sure if this is a glitch in the system or my settings. Patio electrical lights and plugs do not come up as exterior even though it is an exterior wall and there is no problem with the deck area Auto outlets show up in one bathroom but didn't place them in the other bathroom Even though I have a room divider in between the Living Room and Kitchen the auto outlets put them in both when I selected only the kitchen and also added them to the hallway. Shouldnt the room divider keep it separate?

Storm Door (two doors different swings) Missing Exterior Casing
builtright3 replied to Anna_Gorres's topic in General Q & A
It appears the the reason it didn't work for her before is because she had the exterior casing box un-checked for the inside door. I check it and it worked just fine without adjusting the height of the door -

Here is some other instruction that Im not sure if you have seen. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00346/creating-a-storm-door.html -
Very well done Dermot!! That clears it all up for me. I have another question for you. I setup my library with all the same note types and I save the notes to the library note types I created. Is that the only way (or best way) to save the notes? Or is there another way?
-
So you create a type and then set the default. I totally get it but this is where I have problems with written instruction. Dermot say's; "you can create a new default" in his description but he misses a step in my opinion and its confusing. He isn't wrong but its just confusing and most instructions are like this and it messes with my head. Most of the time I'm just reading it wrong or missing something. I guess this is just my handicap and I have to deal with it. I can run multiple jobs and deal with several employees and subcontractor and make the money but I cant seem to follow simple instruction! LOL

The way this is written is confusing to me I think because you don't create a "Note Default" You crate a "Note Type" You set a "Note Default" At least that's the way I understand it

I use notes but its seems awkward the way I'm using them and I'm not good with written instruction. Video's and illustrations are easier for me to learn. Are there any good help video's I could be missing that anyone is aware of? The one I have seen in Chief are not very helpful so far that I've seen. Any help in this would be appreciated.

Thank you Ryan.

Thank you! Working good!

Thank you very much! This is very helpful.

Terrain's can be very frustrating. You can ask for someone to give you one on one on line consultation and pay them to get you through this. The fee's people charge seem reasonable and probably worth it.

Double click to get the general plan defaults and un check the show pitch as degree box

Un-check show pitch as degrees

Is there a Text Fill shortcut so I don't have to open the dialog box every time I need text background? I know I can set my defaults either way but I don't always want to use fill or not use fill.

Thanks guys for the good information I will check it out!

Mark, Can you tell me what the cause of this dark are is? How I might best eliminate it?

I have on some drawings put the entire garage on its own layer (or layer's) so that I can just turn it on or off when I need too. This way when you need the garage in the full rendering you have it.

Not that this has anything to do with what your talking about but I tried to submit plans with the elevations labeled front, back, left and right and the plan checker maid me mark them as north, south, east and west. Not sure why I decided to do it that way after years of labeling the direction but that's what happened the first time I tried to change it.

Thanks guy's! I think I will stay with what I'm doing for now until Chief comes out with a better dimension editing dialog box. Too much work to save a minute or two. Probably not much demand for it. I appreciate the effort.

Its interesting that we can turn off the dimension number but cant turn off the dimension lines and not the number.

Yes, but the custom macro I put in doesn't show up.
-
So it shows up here with using a Macro but it still shows up as the default label in the plan. What am I doing wrong? Any idea? Also, I would need it to show up as feet and inches.

Thank You!
