Questions about performance change from X10 to X13 upgrade
builtright3 replied to AvoyeDesign's topic in General Q & A
Going from 10 to 13 is a pretty serious upgrade. There are definatley features that would help you but if it were me I never make a change just before I go into a big project if I'm on time restraint. You will need time to adjust to the new upgrade. On the other hand, Im a slow learner and need the time and you may not if your a quick study. For whatever its worth, thats my thought -
Thank you! that is absolutely perfect. Thank you for finding that video for me!

So the way I understand it, that if I save one of my customer plan files as a clean Template then I would not want the saved cad blocks in my new plan. I am however going to save the cad details because I want the details to come from the same plan file. Things were getting to confused having the cad details in a separate plan file.
-
Looking for a little advise to setup plan templates; I know that when I save a plan as a template that I want to keep the "CAD Details" and not delete them but what about the "UNUSED CAD BLOCKS"? I don't really understand the "Cad Block Management" and how it works and I don't know if I need to. Any help or suggestions to help me with setting up templates would help. Looking for wisdom from experience. Something that HELP wont give me. Thank You

Im actually really enjoying windows 11 so far. I like it! Everything seems to be working good for me also.

I believe my card is a 1070 if I'm reading it right in signature

FYI, I downloaded windows 11 yesterday and everything seems to be working fine so far with X13 and other programs that I have.
-
I misread your last post so sorry if I confused you. I am not using windows 11 yet. That's why I started this thread. I was afraid that is might cause complications and I cant afford to mess up my computer right now.

I still have 11 and 12 in my computer but I only use the new version once I upgrade

Yes, when I went through this I spoke to tech support at Chief and also to NVIDIA. I believe it was NVIDIA that asked me to disable the "Nahimic Service". I spent countless hours on this and waisted a bunch of time doing research. Disabling the "Nahimic Service" didn't seem to affect anything else on my system so I just gave up and stopped trying to solve the problem. I just disabled and moved on.

No, we are talking about when you print. When you exclude it will still print it unless you exclude the pages in the print dialog box. The additional box would save having to enter the pages in the print dialog box.
-
Let me know if that fixes it. I would be curios about that.
-
I'm basically saying the same thing but the way you say it may a better way to say it. Thank You
-
Try disabling the "Nahimic Service" as per my last post and see if it corrects your problem.

Add your request to the same suggestion thread

Not sure if this has anything to do with your situation but when my program crashed I would have to disable the "Nahimic Service" and then everything would work fine. But I noticed that I haven't had the problem lately since I updated to Chief x13 but it could also have something to do with the NVIDIA card updates.

Yes, I put it in the suggestion box It took me 60 seconds to create that. They should be able to do it in 30 seconds!

I guess this is what we need from Chief to add

Hey Guy's & Gal's, Any input on the Pro's and Con's to windows 11 and how it works with or relates to Chief X13? I have not downloaded windows 11 yet and trying to prepare myself for any potential problems the best I can. Any information on this would be helpful Thank You!

I do most all my electrical in house. I was just trying to make it a little easier. Thank you Joe

I have a spread sheet that I built and use to put in all the necessary information. I think you may be on to something by creating the electrical schedule and then transferring to a spread sheet. I will try that. Most of these detached ADU's are asking for it now so I thought maybe I could come up with something a little easier. Thank You!
