  1. I used the material region to put it on the wall and tried to rotate it 90d but that didn't work. Not sure if that is what you meant. What do you mean make a copy of the material?
  2. How do I change the direction of plank flooring if I'm putting it on a wall? Right now it is vertical and I want it to be horizontal. Any help would be appreciated
  3. That is actually a good idea for this type application. I never thought of a truss for that. Thank You!
  4. I don't know if this will help you but I have this knee brace in my library that I unblock in the plan and I can move them around and manipulate them for this type thing you are doing I move them around in elevation views and resize them as needed Knee Brace2.calibz
  5. I worked on this for over an hour and can figure out why this is happening. I don't remember ever having this problem before. The garage wall does not sit on the curb the way it is supposed to. Plan is attached but I'm not 100% sure I sent it correctly. Please let me know if it doesn't work. As always I appreciate any help anyone can give me Garage.zip
  6. I would like to design a stage and put these Acoustic Foam Panels on the back wall. Haven't been able to find it in the library. Can anyone help me with this? This is a one time thing for me to do at my church and I didn't want to spend to many hours creating it if I don't have too.
  7. Thanks guy's I like the idea of using the stucco for the finish.
  8. I'm building a balcony off my cabin in Big Bear, CA and not familiar with deck coatings that can handle the snow. Tried to search the library in Chief but had no luck. I got a recommendation to possibly use a material called "Tufflex". https://www.tufflexpolymers.com/ Two questions: Is there something in the library that I can use in the plan? Does anyone have any other recommendations for other materials or is Tufflex and good product to use?
  9. Yes, I agree but sometimes when I search for an answer to something it usually with help me to understand something that I have been missing or open my eyes to something else. In this case is was just a big waste of everybody's time! Thank you all for your putting up with me! Al though I do enjoy the chalange!
  10. I don't believe that line weight number goes to anything. Its just there doing nothing. This layer is just to separate the main layer from everything else quickly for the framing plan and other uses. At least for now that is the way I see it.
  11. I get all that as far as changing the line weights. That's pretty simple. The part I don't get is the function of the line weight in this picture for the "Wall, Main Layer Only"? When I change it, it does not seem to effect anything. Should this just be something I ignore or am I completely missing the boat (out to lunch!, senile.....)?
  12. Are you referring to the "Wall Type Definition Box"? If you are, there is nothing in there with the 35 weight that I see under walls main layer.
  13. So, I know that when I select walls main layer that it shows only the main layer. What I don't know is what is the difference between the line weight from the normal wall to the main layers only? When I change the weight number to the main layer only it doesn't seem to effect anything.
  14. Thank You! As usual, you saved me again!
  15. I rotated my plan 180 degree but now when I put text in it's always upside down. Is there a way to fix it so I don't have to change it every time I put text in? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
  16. Yes I get that but when you set it up like Joey, mm doesn't really matter anymore. Out with the old and in with the new! Thank for for your input, I appreciate it!
  17. I can tell you right now that I like it already! It really simplifies your line sizing! I don't need 200 different line sizes to pick from
  18. Thank you Joey! I'm gonna take if for a spin and see how I like it with your settings?
  19. I remember the pen plotter and I also remember the different size pencils I used when I drew by hand. So when I started using drawing programs I stopped thinking so much about line weights just because it was another thing I had to figure out. Now that I'm further along in my knowledge of the program I'm working on learning more about how the line weight setting work. Thank you so much for sharing what you have learned with me, It really helps a lot! Question: Can you help me to understand the difference between the layout page drawing sheet setup and the plan drawing sheet setup as far as the line weight settings? I need to know if you do this setting in both of course but also I need to understand how one can effect the other. This is the kind of question that is hard to figure out just from reading the help files. I know the answer is there but I don't always see it because I struggle with written instruction. I'm guess I'm pointing out my disability! Haha
  20. I know that I can choose to change line weights but I was curious to know why the line weights are so large by default for walls? Is there a purpose behind that? I usually leave the line weights turned off but when I want to seem them and turn it on the walls look terrible. Just wondering if I'm missing something here? Im at the point where Im starting to setup line weights for better looking drawings so any better understanding I can get to help me to get it looking good will help. Im also starting to do the PDF's in color so I can have light grey walls for new walls instead of solid black. This is the default setting for the line weights. Don't make sense to me This is an example of what I'm doing. I learned that if I print to PDF in color that the walls will come out in the light grey. Much nicer look to me! Any suggestions is appreciated.
  21. Thanks again! Your a life saver!
  22. I accidently saved this complicated site plan to version 12 and I need someone in version 10 to open it. Is there a way I can export a line drawing to an earlier version?
  23. That worked perfectly! Thank You!
