  1. OK I have some furniture I want in a schedule and then some items like prep tables, Drying Racks, wire shelving that I want in an Equipment Schedule. Seems simple enough, Not. It appears that you can omit from shedule but forget changing the category of the item. Is that correct? There is no provision for a custom schedule !!
  2. That's pretty spectacular. Thanks for all the good advice.
  3. Thanks Dennis. 24" floor system above so lots of room for recess. I'll place can lights in all the perimeter cells & maybe leave the center empty. Haven't used 3d lighting yet. Too much to absorb in 4 or 5 month with CA.
  4. See attached living room. There are 3 across x 4 rows of ceiling recesses. What light fixture would you use & would you place one in each recess? Then to render would you turn them off?
  5. Thanks Glenn. What are you using for a microphone? I'll see what I may have that will work.
  6. Glen, Thanks for the offer. I was putting out fires today on another project. I have some time tomorrow but I live in Florida. Are you 13 hours ahead of me? I don't have skype so I would need to set that up. Oh I see you need a microphone too. Maybe I can use my wife's phone. I still have a flip phone. She used to use skype to talk with her daughter. I'll check it out and get back to you. Thanks
  7. Plan in Zip file is 0 bites. You should be able to set the distance between Newel Post in the dialog.
  8. OK working more with the elevations I see lines & spline result in a more predictable way. Although I am having a fit with the pool deck area. I added an Elevation region where the pool deck is placed in an effort to create a flat area to work on. Then added a Terrain Feature the create the deck. This did not work as expected. I also added some terrain retaining walls where the terrain is higher than the deck. Again not what I wanted. My desire is a pool deck with a 51.0' top at the lanai junction & slopes south by 4" to 50.67' On the East side a retaining wall that has a fixed height of 30" above the pool deck. Terrain is 52' outside the wall to cover the septic Mound but tapers. Not sure what tools I need to use the control the terrain at the wall & the wall need to be a regular terrain wall. The deck / Terrain feature is not flat as intended. I appreciate all input Bash6.zip
  9. OH Sh** I entered all the elevation points as inches instead of feet. How do I fix that?
  10. ok changed the pool deck & that fixed the bleed through of the terrain but the contour lines are still showing in the lanai & pool deck in plan view. off to dinner.
  11. I have a sloped lot where I added topo points and the house took care of itself. But the Lanai & Pool deck area has elevations lines & terrain running through it. The lanai is a room but the pool deck is p-solid. Do i need to add a flat terrain feature ? The tight side has a short terrain wall where the terrain should butt up to it & drop at the pool deck. The left side terrain should slope gently away from the pool deck. I'll post the plan later if needed but half to leave for a few hours.
  12. Soo easy when you know what to do. Thanks
  13. See attached. What is the Red Cross & how to remove it?
  14. Well I added two more dormers & this time the entire dormer appears on the second floor plan view, not just the outline.. I added these while in Ortho View, What determines what floor they are displayed on. The previous two i added appear in the Attic.
  15. OK that worked. But what is the railing getting it's elevation from?
  16. Ah, Roof Opening Layer worked. Thanks! Although I wish it did not penetrate the 2nd floor ceiling at all.
  17. Adding a Floating Dormer to my 8/12 roof with attic I get an outline of the dormer in plan view of the 2nd floor. The dormer is intended to be a false dormer & open to the attic with pre manufactured trusses. There is to be no connection to the second floor. I can not select or remove the outline appearing in plan view of the 2nd floor. What did i miss? Again thanks for your help.
  18. Did they shut http://www.chieftalk.com/ down?
  19. Plan file is here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4571-roof-or-room-will-not-delete-or-rebuild/
  20. I created a curved balcony over the front door & all worked well with curved railing & no room Def & No Locate. But when I used a p-solid for a false balcony next to it the same railing will not move into place. I can not move it in the z-axis. Is there a setting for the railing that I missed?
  21. Thanks for the replies. I found this morning that closing the drawing helped. Larry showed that I have problems wit both garages. Larry there was a garage on the left but disappeared when drawing was re-opened. although a hidden wall remained. I was able to redraw the garage & the ROOM was created. Maureen, as you can see on the attached photo dragging with the rectangle edit tool would not work on this room. Thanks, I'll keep you posted
  22. plan attached. I decided to reconfigure the garage to side load. Single car on the upper left of plan. So I went to 1st floor & broke exterior wall & pulled wall left to 20'8" & continued with 1st floor shape of garage. The went to foundation & did same. Moving to roof & deleted the roof over the garage. At 2nd floor I changes the shape to ,match the first floor. The tried to rebuild roof. None would rebuild on 2nd floor only first floor. I tried to delete 2nd floor walls & attic wall appears & could not delete. I rebuilt 2nd floor & no room definition or roof . So what did I do wrong & hot to fix it. Bash.zip
  23. OK sorry, the trick is to set the post spacing closer, like 12" and reduce the size of the post to say 1".
