  1. Reading the manual & experimenting I was able to load pictures directly to the Catalog. Yea! One bug I found is that the 2D block you assign to the new picture does not stick. You have to go back a second time & switch to your preferred block for 2D plan viewing.
  2. Looks like placing the pictures is best done in plan view? I now see where in the DBX that you can swap out the 2D block.
  3. Yes the background shows through perfectly. Thanks Greg, I have started using paint.net and it works the same but I did not realize I needed to use png file for transparent backgrounds. Thanks again.
  4. I don't care for the 2D block shown in the plan view for images, can I change that?
  5. I suppose the images are ok to post as they are all over the net. That is where I got them.
  6. So there is no solid material involved The picture is placed on the wall surface & is a stand alone object?
  7. Thanks Glenn. That worked. So p-solid works as well as any item in the tool box. I was able to make a rectangle shape with 1/4" thickness and radius the corners. The applied the art work. I needed to rotate this one 45 deg & see that the material had to also be rotated. So much for the simple ones. Off to create the more complex ones tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.
  8. Well looks like I can block a p-solid but it needs to be two of them? Why? I can copy in place & select both & block & add to the catalog. Did not want two. Any other way?
  9. OK looks like the p-solid can not be made into a block and saved to the catalog. Converting to a shape and can still not save to catalog. Exploding the shape is a messy wrong turn. Off to do some more.
  10. I need to install some art work on vertical surfaces like walls & counters & on p-solids. The are work is not rectangular so I need to modify the shape to fit the art work & no frame. I will make the front to back thickness no more than 1/2" maybe even 1/4". One or two of them will need to be groups of circles. I plan ob creating the cluster of objects & then block them. Considering material regions , p-solids & counter tops. I know other can be used like soffits etc. I just want to do this once and use an object that is easy to manipulate in section view while placing on walls, cabinet backs & tall p-solid columns. Anyone have a favorite material & method? Thanks in advance.
  11. Oh good one Joe. Yes I want a button, In ACAD I select all the text objects then enter TCASE for a dialog pop up & then choose the radio button for the case I want. OK & it's done. So you can do the entire drawing if you want. Worst case I would want a right click option within the text dialog to correct the text case.
  12. Is there no tool to change the text case? I type with my head down & often for get to toggle CAP LOCKS on & off at the appropriate time. Almost every editor I use has some Case tool, where is CA's. Upper, Lower, Sentence, Invert Case
  13. Sorry for the late reply. One key does not turn off or pause the snaps off for me. Thanks
  14. Thanks David. I though I was clear. Seems you under stood. So I guess the proper way to delete the balcony & porch was to turn off the auto walls & when done turn back on. I'll have to add this to my "You need to remember this in 6 months when you do this again" file.
  15. Curt, Just rebuilt porch & balcony, went to 2nd floor & tried you method. It left two side walls on 1st floor that I had to delete. Better that before. I get the impression that you have to delete from 2nd floor down. & auto walls will be limited & then just delete them. Not much spare time today to fool with it. Just a quirky think in CA I guess.
  16. Invisible wall type segments on the first floor. projecting out from the exterior wall as if the porch was still there. Only these side walls, not the end wall to complete the room. Apparently created by CA from the balcony room above when I deleted the porch room on the first floor. I kept deleting them until they did not return. I may be able to recreate this condition, if so I'll upload the plan.
  17. Wanting to delete a porch and balcony I started with the first floor & deleted the invisible walls I used to define it, So the automatic walls were created. Deleted them too. Went upstairs & deleted the balcony walls as well but still have wall artifacts on the first floor. What is the proper procedure for deleting these rooms?
  18. In my case the living area per floor will include the perimeter walls so the pline method suite me fine. This allows me to do the garage too which includes the exterior walls but not the partition wall. This is the way the GC whats it shown. Too bad it can not be used in a custom table that auto updates. Working well so far. Thanks for the help.
  19. Thanks Gerry, that can be found in a Ruby reference?
  20. OK It did work when I used it within a text. Just did not evaluate when I was creating it. Changed it to "area" not "area/12" Now I need to round it to one decimal place?
  21. Yes I did this when creating the macro
  22. Only simple if you speak Ruby. With pline selected I created a Macro in a Macro Management window "AreaPline" and added "area/12" but get error . Where did I go wrong?
  23. I assume you fixed the roof problem but in your video you did not adjust the entry roof plan on the left. Some times the roof plane touches the exterior wall and causes this loss of wall. The roof planes sometimes work but later the wall above disappears. May be a rounding math problem that they work & then they don't. I usually pull the planes away from the wall they butt up to by 1/2" and all is fine.
