  1. Oh forgot. Select the roof plane & use it's break tool to shape the roof to fit your odd shape.
  2. No problem, drag the edges of the roof plane where they need to be. Under framing adjust the rafter depth & fascia depth Also add a shadow board.
  3. As a newbe take my advice with a grain of salt. The roof tool is easy to modify & you can control depth of the structure (fascia) and other trim elements easily. All the elements are in one dbx. That's my 2cents
  4. OK "Replace all on this floor" got most of them but not all.
  5. OK I can't use the select similar tool but using insert column & Shift key allows me to select the 16 columns I want to swap out But the "Replace from Catalog" only works with one at a time, Did i miss something?
  6. Oops it was a picture I flipped. The PDF still will not flip.
  7. OK when I added the move it worked as expected. Go figure.
  8. Oddly that too just rotated the pdf 180 deg.
  9. Once in the plan can you mirror a PDF? The reflect about an object only rotates the PDF.
  10. Oh I see, the Texture SCALE was x=8 y=7 Not sure what this relationship is to the texture but changing them to 24 & 14 got the results I was looking for. Not sure what the Depth is for for pattern?
  11. I added a white 3x8 tile to the floor/ Then changed it to 12x18 with the material edit tool. Also change the angle 90 deg. When in Vector view it look like I wanted it but in Standard view & raytrace the tile is shown as the original 3x8. What did i do wrong?
  12. Joe pointed out that I inadvertently left the window layer ON. Apparently even if you can not see the windows when the wall layer is off the fact that the layer is ON will allow them to be selected. When the Moves were made I did not check the house. Then I cleaned up the topo points and other items that needed adjusting. When i switched back to floor plan layer I saw the windows out of place. Some had jumped to other walls so it was not feasible to move all the windows. At that point I decided to abandon that plan. The site was correct though so I opened a previous plan where the house was in correct condition. I deleted all the site items & copied the other site I had modified & paste hold position in the old plan. that put the site objects in the correct position. Only problem was the terrain apparently will not copy from one plan to another. So I created a new terrain & the old terrain data I pasted worked OK. The fact is that there are items that will give you trouble with terrain changes like this. I just hope I can remember them next time this happens.
  13. SO how much time you think I've got invested in this simple procedure?
  14. So to fix it I deleted the terrain & all elements associated with the site form my backup plan. Then copied the moved site from the corrected plan & paste in place. Looks like the terrain perimeter can not be done that way. deleted the pline for the terrain and created a new terrain perimeter. Not quite fixed yet but getting closer.
  15. Oh my, just noticed all the windows on the first floor moved! *@$%!
  16. Thanks Joe I will. Perry, yes that is what I did. I created a few new layers for the text, slabs & trees that needed to stay with the house. Then created a new layer set with site plan only, no house etc. Moved the site, then adjusted all the topo & driveway as needed. Worked fine.
  17. Good advice Tommy. I'm not up to speed on the anno sets yet. Smeagol, good idea. I was not aware of the tool. That would work for plan view changes. Quick and easy. My problem is that I wanted 3D views with the real site and that requires moving something 3D. Lew, that sounds like a good way to go. I would prefer to delete the site objects & paste in place the site objects. Then while still selected do the Move with transform replicate.
  18. Well this one is messy. Plants, trees & hedges around the house need to move with the house. Also the pool equipment, AC units Lani, pool deck etc. Better to move the site I think, haven't got that subtract thing to select anything but I will keep trying. Layers may be doable but I need to re-layer all new landscape next to the house. Thanks
  19. No dormers in elevation view, got it. Now if I can just remember that for next year when I do another dormer. Not too many here in Florida.
  20. I need to move the location of the house 20' south and 20' west. In ACAD I would move the site as it is easy to select all items outside the house. With CA the selection is clumsily. You shift select & if you catch anything that was selected it get unselected. Is there an easy way to select all but the house & it contents?
  21. Just like any corner on a siding clad wall, with inside & outside corner molding. Or did you prefer a miter wall segment. Just kidding. I suppose you could extend that new wall 30 more feet to smooth things out. But this old farm house is quite ragged as it is. Why the pocket slider I have no idea, kinda crazy if you ask me. I have never seen the house in person, just a few photo's. The GC gave me a hand drawn remodel plan. He did use a ruler though.
  22. Mick, Yes stair position changed & it's all aligned now. I'll try the paste in place, although the dormers are picky about being near another dormer. The non floating dormer complained about no wall present so I used floating dormers. I originally placed then in elevation view. So maybe because the 2nd floor is :Open to Below" the fell through to the 1st floor. PS the paste in place in the attic did the trick. I has to move then off the front wall to get them to trim the wall as it showed up in the windows. Now the outline is all that shows in the 2nd floor plan, perfect. Still have a framing issue but I'll delete or turn off framing as that roof is existing. Thanks
  23. Thanks for your time Joe. I'll look at this again late in the day. Too many fire burning here.
  24. Looking at how the roof cuts the 2nd floor I'm not sure a 3rd floor would play nice with the design. No time to try it now, maybe later today.
