Thanks ! I will check out those suggestions. It is only in one plan (Concept One) where it occurs. The Entry Plan and the subsequaent Concept Two and Three (all Save As from the Entry) do not have the spikes.

I am having a unique problem with a plan regarding the "rendering with shadows" The result is a spike-like shadow in lieu of the smooth shadow line. Even more unique is that the spikes are only on the front and not the rear of the home. Any Ideas? Thanks Mark Concept One.plan

CROWN MOULDING PARPET WALL AND MATERIAL FINISH ISSUES
Ginkgohouse replied to Designer100's topic in General Q & A
Just select the "molding" line, break is with the "break line" tool, and pull the new line perpendicular to the orig. that will create the the return molding profile. adjusted plan attached. KCM Remodeling 2015 - CT.plan -
Nothing wrong from what I could tell. The survey on the right side seemed to have more contour lines (smoother) that would make the terrain seem more "life like". Your surveyor had the right data embedded in the file to make the terrain come to life ! When you import the DWG into the plan just change the layers that are associated with the contours to "terrain data" when the layer option box pops up. Glad I could help - Have a great weekend.
-
Here is the plan with the imported elevation data. It seems like the DWG has (2) identical surveys of the same lot. You can move the terrain perimeter to either the one on the right or left of the plan. If the DWG Elevation Data is correct it seems like a very complex lot ! CT - Survey.plan

If you delete the "Walls, Railings" the slabs will go away. They are the rooms floor. Interesting that you cannot select the room in 3D view.

There are (2) Apron Front Sinks in the core catalog. Architectural->Fixtures->Sinks->Kitchen Sinks->Apron Front

Morning ! I have a house that has a unique window trim that I am having trouble replicating in CA. The side trim is 3/4 x 4 that extends to the top of the 1/2 x 5 lintel additionally there is a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 secondary lintel. I have tried several methods but am not quite getting it right without having to manually trim each window. Any Ideas?

You need to change the "Floor Structure" Material to Concrete - Not the Fir Framing it is currently set to.
-
If you go into the Project Browser and delete all of the unwanted elevations / sections, then save and close the plan and CA, then reopen the plan it should reset the auto elevation labels. \

I was just shooting in the dark. I guess I am still unclear what was being requested. Have a fantastic weekend.

Change the line weights to a lower weight in the "Layer Display Options"

I use patterns in some of my sections. I just change the pattern fill in the Define Material DBX. Is this what you are talking about?
-
Try the "Wall Material Regions". I like using them because it provides a Real Word example of what is occurring and could help highlight any conflicts with other objects.

I use the Logitech M510. Easily programmable buttons to work with CA hot keys - Push Scroll Wheel to left ( H ) - Instant 3d overview, push down (CTRL - L) - instant Library etc. As for the batteries - I use my mouse all day M-F and have to change the batteries every 4-5 months.
-
Toggle the "Temp Dimension" button.

Thanks Michael ! Bn - There are a bunch of wall off angle - If this was my plan - I would go through all of the wall DBX and get the plan square - pun intended.
-
It seems to me that the walls in the curved portion are not aligned exactly with the wall below. On a previous project with curved walls i found that copying the walls (including the adjacent ones and then paste in place on the second floor worked well. At the Front Entry and billiard room - the second floor windows have siding cutting through them - If you open the first floor wall you will notice the wall is a bit off angle (179.575572°) that is not parallel to the wall above (180). Adjust the wall angle to 180, and then "align with wall above/below".

Section callout (section camera), want to control display
Ginkgohouse replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Turn off the "Camera" layer as well as the "Cameras - Label" Layer -
Ok - Lets wrap this up your camera labels( 1. ) are not set to automatic personally i do not use the automatic text below line as I will typically have the same camera on a couple of pages and it make the label too big. Make sure to click ( 2. ) automatic Then the label sizes are driven by the Cameras ( 3. ) - Text Style ( 4. ) Which is edited in saved text styles ( 5. ) and & ( 6. ) So - If you push the plan at 1/4" the camera callouts will automatically be at 4" then when you change the layer set and push, as say 1/2" you change the "Text Style" to 1/2" text style.

I have and use the arcways library all the time. It's great. I was referring to the stair parts as symbols. I guess I must have been dreaming.

I attached the plan with the fixed roof plane. Basically deleted the two lower planes, selected the upper roof, "break line" and drag the eave edge to the new location, break line again where the dormer hip roof and main plane intersect and drag it the the cheek walls of the dormer. added attic walls where needed.
-
Your best bet is to have just a single roof plan (as it will be in real life) if I am understanding the issue correctly. rc - single plane.plan

I might be mistaken but at one point was there and LJ Smith stair parts library with individual stair parts esp the fancy rail turnouts and swoopy parts? I have looked through X1 - X7 libraries to no avail.
-
Are their any lines in the plan utilizing the line style? When I created the unique line style and applied it to a line and then deleted it from the library, It would still appear in the DBX. Once i deleted all of the lines in the plan, closed CA and reopened the unique was no longer in the DBX. I will say it is a pretty tricky !
