I want to make sure I have the best set up for Chief. My PC consists of three separate drives. C & D drives (both HHD) were stock when purchased, I added a 1 TB SSD which is "S" drive. I have folder / file locations on different drives. I do save any working project plan files and layout in the same directory. I've attached screen shots of the locations of my X-9 Folders and would appreciate any input. I want to also make it as easy as possible to copy and paste data from my PC to either my laptop or to one of my interns (out of state) that has CA and works on plans for school and me. Going to my laptop would be either over WiFi network or a flash drive. My intern laptop would either be a large data transfer service or via Dropbox. See attached. Thanks for any input. Rob

Its not a huge deal but is there a setting to change the size of the inactive camera symbol in plan view? I would like to have them smaller. Thanks

Problem solved by resetting the Side Windows in preferences.

Make sure your not against an invisible wall / room divider

Ive been working in a plan all morning and all of a sudden the library wont open. This has never happened. When I click the Library icon there is a check mark that appears but nothing opens. (See attached) Same goes for when I select View - Library Browser or Ctrl L. This is in all views. However if I open a symbol and go to materials the library will open. Anyone else have this issue. Thanks Rob

Damn Michael. Do you sleep at Chief Architect headquarters writing code in a back room or something???

Thanks. That saves a few clicks. Every few count

Does anyone know if there is a shortcut to rotate the angle of a texture such as wood grains, flooring, etc. without opening the item, edit texture and enter the angle in the DBX. Wasn't sure if X9 had a point and click feature to rotate textures. Thanks

Michael, That is exactly what I was using it for. Zooming in on items without everything cutting away. Thanks as usual

I do have it on the tool bar. Just never had to do that in previous versions

Im having camera issues... Maybe others have seen it and its just a setting 1.. Ive got an issue with using ortho camera views. In plan view the full plan is centered on the screen but when i use an ortho view the overview of the house shows up as small as a postage stamp either in the upper left corner or at the very top of the screen in the center. Then when I try to zoom in, I can get about half way zoomed in to a full plan enlargement. With each turn of the mouse scroll wheel it probably zooms in 50' ??? but at that point zooming with either the mouse wheel or the + / - icons the zoom become extremely slow. Not sure but for each click of the mouse wheel it may zoom in 2' ( exactly sure this is just an example) It would take 100's of mouse wheel turns to even get close. (See attached screen prints to see what it looks like when the ortho cameras openand when the zooming slows to a crawl) 2. Plan view camera. I can get a camera view of a particular room, however, when I want to zoom in on an object, with just a few mouse turns it will take me completely out of that room all the way to the outside of the entire house. (see attached before and after zooming screen prints showing before and after zoom) I have these same issues with two different mice and on both desktop and laptop. Anybody else have this??? Thank you

OK thanks. See the attached. Am i looking at the correct file? If so, when deleted, when X-9 is opened, it will migrate again so the user user database in X-8 needs to cleaned up and be what I want

Will this replace the user library that's there now or add an additional one or merge the two together?
-
I might have answered my own question. I didn't know X-9 would do this now, once I loaded X-9 it automatically migrated the libraries from X-8 including my old X-8 user library. However, I had a newer "cleaned up" copy of my used library that I had exported from my desktop yesterday to a flash drive. What's the best way to replace the migrated user library with my updated copy on the flash? I'm asking because I don't want to get a double user library like a previous time.

I have loaded X-9 on my desktop with all the core, bonus. MFG and my user libraries. I need to do the same to my new laptop. I have installed X-9 to the laptop but is there a way to load all the bonus and the same MFG libraries I dont use all the MFG libs) without having to download each one individually from the CA website and then load each one individually? Thanks
