Or you could probably build one in CA in less time than it would take to search for it. I have a strong suspicion if you put this out in the general forum as a challenge or request for help it could be done in about 3-5 min.

Anyone remember when a full update meant praying that you did not erase all the top layer off the Mylar pages or tear the Vellum?

Here is some info that I gleaned when asking about RayTraces. I believe it may have been form Jintu, this is for exterior but some of the info will apply: Here are my typical exterior raytrace settings that You can try. //////////////////////////////// A) General Increase number of passes to get rid of the pixelation. Try 10 passes or more. B )Lighting Uncheck Use CAmera View settings and use a dark grey or skyblue color. Ambient Occlusion: min. .1 - max. 3 or 4 Direct Sunlight: 4 to 6 C) Advanced Check only the Use Photon Mapping. Caustics and Depth of field are taking too much time to compute, prolonging render time. (You may also uncheck them altogether specially for exterior shots. Lighting Settings above may compensate enough for their absence). D) Image properties Contrast - 60% //////////////////////////////// Then I read more of the thread. You have an ancient computer. If you are running xp than being able to render your interior in one hour sounds stellar. Take a good look at the time you are spending to get the results and figure out if spending 1k to 1.5k on a new computer makes sense. You can probably quadruple your computer speed for about 1k.

Thanks for looking. I am still working on the plan and moving markers. Doing everything I did earlier but no more freezes yet.

Hello All, In the attached file I have had 2 different elevations freeze on me this morning within about 15 minutes. I think it is happening when selecting the Markers. I have saved cameras for the elevations. I was just working on the North and South elevations which both froze. I can still work and close the elevation but my mouse does not work in the elevation window. F7 dd fin 1.zip

What Came First? House Or Plat, Or Does It Matter?
Gawdzira replied to keithhe's topic in General Q & A
What I see is a hand drawn sketch of surveyors information. There is going to be inaccuracy with the hand done drawing. Since the survey has numerical information I would import the survey image, scale, rotate and trace. Even if the actual ordinate information of your cad lines is not perfect you are working in the spirit of what is required to define the site plan. Yours is an architectural drawing not a legal survey. Even when I get CAD from my surveyor the house lines are always different from my field measure. I trust my field measure. -
Adjusting Horizontal Sash Bars In A Slider (Craftsman)

Lew, you live in New York. Pizza Hut? You realize that nothing you say is credible from this point forward. -
I am a fan of CA and find it an amazing tool for residential. Where you need to evaluate is on your interactivity between users. This software is geared more to a solo operator. I know there are offices that use is for production with multiple seats but it is lacking any file referencing. If your projects tend to be done by individiuals, then it will work great. If you are thinking about having two people interact on the same plan, it could be messy. My Layout sheets are fed by several plan files, existing, proposed, details and sometimes another in rare instances or the end of the project and I need to crank something out fast for a deadline. With this in mind, in a pinch, you could have multiple people working simultaneously once the plan is locked down but would not be a great practice.

Great. Sounds like it could be short enough for me to pick up the donuts for the soccer team. The little rug rats beat us last time and I want every advantage possible (including sugar induced mania).

Perry's Declarative Title-24 Statement Regarding Replacing Glazing
Gawdzira replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
That's what you get for living in wine country. Here we get 20 lashes. -
I am trying to do what I said above but I am not sure this is workable. Possibly the best solution is to change the layer on the item and use that for copy and paste in the plan.

You will probably need to save outlets to the library with the layer assignment that you desire and then grab from there to place your electrical items. If I remember correctly you may need to group some items and save the group to the library or the electrical items will default back to the electrical layer. Maybe...

@JJohnson, that form was written in 2012. Does it still apply after the 2013 code adoption? -
