For bowl like shapes, you can use a molding profile.

Eric, when i try and do this my shade is very segmented, my molding is smooth but when i add it to a polyline it becomes only 3 segments for curve?

  2. I use Buildertrend, you can see all jobs at once in schedule, you can also filter for many things... cloud based project management.

you can name a schedule item anything you want

it even has a client portal.

    very powerful software.

this has option to set baseline on jobs and report slippage

you can also have todo’s with a task list and assign to whomever with deadlines and reminders.

Software is really for building /renovation but it would work for you.

It even imports chief materials into program...

Something is messed up with your cameras...the backdrop isn't showing. The backdrop, sun angle and sun color will drastically change your images. Open, the camera, move it outside, and with the library browser open, swap out a different backdrop. Just select one in the library, move the pointer to the camera and with one click it'll swap out.

Then, with your camera in its final position, change the sun angle and direction so some sunlight comes through the windows.

Turn the shadows off for the 2 chandeliers.

Change the drop off rate for the recessed lighting to 12 or 15 for a less harsh effect on the wall.

1500 is my favorite sunlight lumen setting.

Thanks Rob I will try this as well

David - took another look at your plan. There are a lot of things, especially with the roof were connections are not proper. With PBR it is critical that everything be properly enclosed or you will encounter some odd things.

Thanks I will try closing roof and other things.

i want to concerned with roof as I was just doing an interior 360 but easy to make roof proper if it fixes walls.

Thanks for trying Mark. I figured out how to add a formula to the automatic rebar counts that calculates the increased amount needed ...and some other components like

rebar 'L's from footing to wall really quickly.

Next Question: how do I copy components from one wall to another?

Rob can you share what you did? Very interesting

You may be missing a small detail or approach...I only say that as I feel like I know your capabilities in the software and you shouldn't think it is a lot of work.

    1. Pull an elevation
    2. Draw material region using tab-input for the width making sure the entire material region is captured by the wall. This ensures that the region is in the right coordinate location(bound to the wall)
    3. Drag the region up past the plan of the highest ridge for that section of wall.
    4. Multiple copy and drag along that walls elevation
    5. Optional to evenly distribute along the wall

Same method works for a stepped back location. I can usually do a whole house in 5 minutes or less

Rene...you are right...ha ha...not as much work as i make it out to be...it would be nice to have an automated way...

Thanks! Why isn't this getting more publicity? I completely missed this.

Richard what did you do in the end for your b&b?  I have used material regions in past they look great but are a lot of work, or did you get the polyline distribution path working?

I am always looking for a good b&b that shows up well in 3d with the appropriate shadows.

  8. Ok you smart chiefers...wouldn't it be good to know when and who uses the links we send out?

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to only give out individual links.

With buildertrend i get notified when a user views a proposal.

I am looking for a way to see the activity and have more control over who sees these, any thoughts?

Nice Work David! I'm a little bit disappointed you skipped the vertical tile trim...and it looks like there should be an escutcheon for the shower head at the wall...

Ha ha... I know... you how hard it was to just do this.... I was trying to show the shower door correctly but I couldn’t figure out how to..

it’s a black rail sliding dbl door.. how to do it?

i hope my Tiler doesn’t freak when I show him this to do...

  10. Ok guys...i drew hexagons on wall, converted to polyline solids, blocked and inserted on wall...

Used polyline solids and material wall surface for black grout behind...

I have a pushed back shower shelf so i had to do back wall twice and remove tiles above shelf..here is the result..

Client has signed off on design....it should be close to this in end...i will post pictures once complete...

Also might use some matte white tiles near top to give it a little more depth.
