home_design
hi, is there a way to add a profile to a siding type so it would show in the cross sections and not just as line 1/2" from the sidding
DavidJPotter
You can apply vector patterns (.pat) files to any material, there are several additional .pat files available that ship with Chief (take a look under "Custom Pat Files") and or you can import .pat files from AutoCAD and other CAD programs that use .pat files. and then assign those to existing or custom materials. rlackore
David, I believe the OP is trying to assign a profile that will show up in a cross-section. Home_design, you should delete one of your duplicate posts. And you should put a name in your signature so we know what to call you (you can make one up if you don't like the one your parents gave you). Solution joey_martin Posted January 28, 2016 Solution Share Posted January 28, 2016 There are profiles in the library that you can place in your detail, but for now, there is no way to assign a siding/shingle profile to the exteriors. They are under the detail components area of the CAD Blocks.
home_design
rlackore, Sorry about duplicate post. I'm new. how do I delete it? I would like add a profile to a specific siding material so it would show in my cross sections. I've seen the way you can do a log siding with a 3d molding polyline but it seemed like a lot of work if it's a complicated house is there a better way? thanks, DenisP
