stainless steel on ray trace

can some one tell me how to get a stainless steel finish on my appliances in ray trace.i have selected brushed s/s for the finish but when I do the ray trace they come out black.post-2287-0-39800200-1439705151_thumb.jpg

Thanks David, my post is here on the Symbols Forum, along with some other Metals further down in the Post too which you can turn into Materials if needed.

*** because Stainless has a "grain" , it may look better to use the Vert (ical) vs Horiz (ontal)  version of the material or to rotate it 90° depending on what you are applying it to.

Or, turn on Photon Mapping in the ray trace settings.

      Hi Guys so im new to chief architect and im trying to learn the basics! So I figured out MOST of the stuff but cant seem to get my appliances to look like stainless steel for one as you can see in my picture, im using polished or rough aluminum none of these are looking like metal atol and then there is my light any tips and ideas i can try out to make it look realistic with maybe sun coming thru my windows OR the lights to actually look like normal lights? lol thanks everyone!!!

      Why do all my stainless steel textures look black when I ray trace? I've tried lighting like crazy, and everything else is really bright, but SS still looks pitch black. Any ideas?
