Window mulling

Today's problem is getting windows to mull.

In the attached screenshot, the windows are not mulled; I keep getting an error message saying they need to be within 24" and aligned vertically and horizontally, which they are.

So I aligned all of them, then added the 3" casing.  The trouble is the casing is applied horizontally between the windows.

How can I remove that casing and keep the perimeter casings?  I have no idea where the red lines in the screenshot came from.

1. Mull the top three windows together.

2. Mull the bottom three windows together.

3. Mull the top units to the bottom units.

Hopefully that will work for you.

Or maybe try a small exterior lintel on the bottom windows to act as a mull cover. Then the casing should stay as desired for the rest of the unit.

They all need to be on the same floor.  Look at heights above floor for upper row and lower row.

Building upon what @Larry_Sweeney said, you can't mull an entire array of windows (x rows, y columns).  Here that equals [3,2]  You must mull either the same row or same column windows first into one unit, then you can mull the units all together.

 

Mulling only each column of windows will eliminate the trim between AND Chief will still locate the center of each window column.  Chief will only locate the center of the middle window once rows are mulled.
