Door and window labels not to be shown on all section views

As the title states, I am asking if there is a way to show these labels on certain section views, but not all section views.  I typically show these labels on exterior elevation views, but being asked not to show on interior cross section views.  It appears that their either all on or all off.  I thought, well I'd just turn them off on the views that do not need them and on in the others, but after you refresh your layout views they "ALL" either turn on, or they "ALL" turn off.  

 

Anyone have a trick up there sleeve?

I had this come up the other day.  I had an exterior elevation where I wanted to show window tags in the foreground but those in the grey out background beyond I did not want to show.  I just grabbed those tags and moved them up out of the way so they did not show in the layout box.

Create a layer set to assign to the particular views. In this case you can copy the existing layer set you are using and turn the label layer off where you don't want it in the new layer set and then change each section view over to the new layer set.

When you did this, the views you did want them to show, were those labels out in space?

I figured this might be the only way, just have to remember the correct set I am using..  :-)

I don't know re. your first question.  That's probably a downside.  I'd have to go back and check.

 

Not working today - just rode the bike!

Yeah.... I have to do that for my elevations AND cross sections. Framing stick through in exterior elevation and I want it off. BUT I need that layer on in cross sections. So similar scenario.

Yep.... Working on base plans this weekend and last week.

No trick...labels can be set to show or hide on a per camera basis. In a section or elevation view, just select the windows that you do NOT want to have their label showing. In the Label tab, check 'Hide in this View'. This assumes the labels layer is on. So you have an override to hide labels as needed. The inverse function does not work (that is 'show label' while the layer is off).

Just to follow up, looks like label position can vary by view.  I dragged the labels out of the way in the grey background elevation below.  In the second view, they show up where they were automatically placed.  But, Robert's solution is "cleaner."

Thanks.  It's the Depth Cue tool.  Works really well.  You should check it out.

I just did... this is crazy.  I guess I got so used to using the same tools and not really ventured through all these extra tools.  Has this always been here?
