Construction Detail Template

Suggestions or templates on creating a const detail page for plans to send to Layout. A boiler plate template to Save to my library. Bring it in and edit as needed per plans. Create as a CAD detail I would think?

No need for a cad detail.

Just add each detail to Layout per job? I am trying to make a template and Save to library to use for every job just edit as needed. If that makes sense?

That's what I do. I have a lot of generic construction details in my template plan, in multiple CAD Details, and yes edit and send to layout as needed.

Thats what I do, although I store them in my library. but have a default one on my template plan's CAD details

 

Then for complex plans I go into the CAD detail, say for roof eave, and then replace it with one from my library, if I have it, or I just change the CAD detail. It already shows on my template layout, as my callout is linked and I have it there in my template layout

 

For simpler projects where I have just two details on layout, I just copy from my library and put it on the layout. In this case my callout is not linked
