SHCanada2
Is there a way to get this front gable to extend to the main gable, automatically? The front entry has a different room height. It it was the same room height then it does automatically extend rooftest.plan

SHCanada2
I think all I did was draw four walls then drew the entry, then changed the ceiling height on the entry. set the gables.
Mark3D
Sorry i missed that this is the way chief handles those roof situations I don't know why this happens, but it does happen it has been talked about on this forum but I don't know there is way to get auto roofs to handle it. What i do is start with auto roof and then do a manual edit at the end rooftest.plan

For this house I am actually using a roof baseline polyline (I saw a video by rene, and thought, wow that is a quick way to fix up the roof after the auto build is done), so I was really hoping as well, that somehow modifying the roof baseline polyline somehow would make the roof connect to the main roof. But no luck ...so far
Solution glennw Posted April 6 Solution Share Posted April 6 I have always done that by creating a room with invisible walls in the main room. The vertical wall that defines the invisible room only needs to encroach on the large room as far as it meets the valleys on either side. You shouldn't need to use a Roof Baseline Polyline. rooftestGLENN.plan
Mark3D
If you mix glens smart idea with Make roof base polyline it works with auto roof and you can loose the invisible walls

Thanks @glennwthis:: invisible room only needs to encroach on the large room as far as it meets the valleys on either side. are the tidbits on information that even if I was to do it once, I usually forget the next time. ...now when I search the forum I will sometimes search by my name to try and remember the ones I know I asked about but do not remember the answer!
