Curious to know how you send PBRs to layout: Update on Demand or Current Screen as Image?

Just curious how other users send PBRs to layout.

  • Current Screen: Update on Demand
  • Current Screen: Update Always
  • Current Screen as Image

Thanks!

I always do current screen as image for PC performance reasons, plus I try to keep the number of different cameras I have set up to a minimum. That being said I haven't tried live PBR views in layout for awhile, I'm curious to hear what others are doing as well.

update on demand. go for coffee when printing or read CA's chielftalk :). use the X key to resize the layout box. But if I cared alot about my coffee time I would probably print to tabloid instead of ARCH D, as it is a lot faster.

I refuse to sit there and continually make images everytime I change something in the plan and then send to layout.

although if I recall correctly someone has a workflow where the layout box is a file path to a picture, and they save the camera as a picture image to disk, thus avoiding the whole send to layout, resize, reposition...

Makes sense, I'm going to try live PBR views again and see how it goes. I've been spending way too much time updating images after changes, and those kind of views are the type that seem to generate more changes from clients.

Thank you for sharing!  I generally do a Current Screen as Image, but I am experimenting with the other two options.  I'm working on a large project with many PBR views and trying to update the PBR views and resend them to layout every time someone makes a change to the design is making me rethink my process.

I stopped adding image renderings to pdf's because of the hassle of aligning, resizing, and updating views. Instead, I provide the images as a gallery.

For me, time and money trumped my desired finished plan. And if sharing an album link, you can probably find a service that allows you to replace images when things change saving even more time.
