Where should I put Textures in file system

My wife accidentally deleted a Folder on the computer with hundreds of photos used for Textures. Fortunately, I have some backups with many of the photos but these were not in the Chief files as a backup.  Is there a method whereby I can import photos from backed up files back into Chief and then accomplish a re-association with textures?  Or, is this a laborious process that needs all new association of the photos to the item in my USER files one by one? I'm talking about 400 photos or more. Ordinarily I would have recovered them from the Recycle Bin, but she emptied that before I knew what was happening..............

If I were able to import photos from photos backup, where would I put them into the Chief Architect file structure so that these would become recognizable?  I do also have a backed up Folder labeled with Textures that still has many in it, but not all of them.

Thanks in advance for some help.   (Yes, she has been banned from touching File Delete ever again!)

There maybe a few ways you can address it:

1.       You can import a folder of texture files (photos) into your Library. 3D> Materials> Convert Textures to Materials.  This will put all the photos into your User Library.

2.       You can restore your photos to a folder.  When you open a plan/layout and you get the message “missing image” point it to the folder

I usually put these in a folder under the specific client project (see attached).  If they are not client specific, you put them a level up where you manage your plans/layouts, e.g.,  \myDocuments\ChiefPlans\Photos

If you go to export your entire library it will build a missing file lookup and in the export process repair your missing textures, but Alternatively you can also place the files in your textures directory inside of your chief data file. What Scott suggests creates new materials but that also does the work of putting your textures in your data file but only if you had the option set in preferences to copy externally referenced files.

Keep in mind your texture files would need to be named the same as the original file otherwise you will have to replace these files one by one
