agriffiths
Hi Everyone, I've looked but can't seem to find anything - Is there a way to price lumber by the linear foot instead of per piece in the materials list? or is there a formula that I could add in? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!
agriffiths
That! I found all that but it's the "per foot" piece. I can't seem to find how to change my unit from per PIECE to per FOOT.
GeneDavis
Look again at the pic in Eric's post. It shows the reporting as "Mixed," meaning it is giving unit counts for framing reporting in specific lengths, and footage for the others. It is showing in the table, for a line item reported as in feet ("ft"), and with the unit price per foot shown, the line reports total cost or ft x $ = $$. Sounds like you want to run the material list in linear length format, not one of the other three choices.
DBCooper
Try switching the drop down from whatever you are currently on to "linear length". My guess is that you have it set to something else. Here are a couple of tech articles that might help explain how this works: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/category/59/materials-list.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00095/creating-a-cut-or-buy-list-of-framing-materials.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00510/controlling-the-information-that-s-displayed-in-a-materials-list.html
agriffiths
Ok, thank you all for your suggestions and guidance! I truly do appreciate your time!
SHCanada2
out of curiosity, are you actually pricing dimensional lumber by the foot. An 8' 2x6 here is $7, and a 10' is $11, or 88c/ft and $1.10/ft respectively
