Kitchen Elevation Question

Hello!

The first picture below is from a Chief Architect blog. You will notice on the right side of the elevation that there is an X for the upper and lower cabinets that are perpendicular to the elevation (they are also slightly grayed out). How do I get X14 to do this automatically? The second picture below is my own kitchen elevation. I don't know how to get the X and gray look automatically. Do I actually have to draw the X manually with polylines and then add a gray shaded box? Thanks in advance for your feedback! =)

I think all you need to do is draw a "cross box" (hardly a reason to hire a cad monkey).  I don't think you can set the default color for the background to be gray but you could just set it in one and then use the fill style painter for any others.

If you go to Tools - > Tool bars and Hotkeys -> Customize Toolbars and then search for "Hire CADD Monkey" That icon has saved me multiple times.
