Dimensions - how to alter

Working in X15 - much more advanced product from the CA product I've been using for years.  I'm coming up against an issue with dimensions, and there's got to be an easy way to address it, but it is eluding me, and I've spent too much time trying to figure it out, so I'm hoping someone can assist.  In each of my floorplans that I've brought in, it keeps making funky dimensions for walls, rooms, etc. rather than the whole measurements I originally built them as.  Example - room length reading as 4'0 3/8" rather than just 4' for an interior measurement on a small closet.  I figure there's got to be a simple fix, to either adjust each individual item or to default to full inch measurements?  The program does this when building a new wall or structure at the start, but inevitably changes to the funky  measurements soon after.  

 

I've never struggled with such a seemingly easy task before and can't find anyone with this issue in the Q & A's.  Thank you in advance for your help - and I apologize if this is a ridiculously easy fix.  Thank you!

There is, but difficult to guess what needs fixed from your post alone. Posting a plan file would allow someone to diagnose the problem.

Somewhere along your workflow, your settings are causing this. Again, without the plan and a more thorough explanation of what steps you're taking when this happens (switching saved plan view, sending to layout, etc), very difficult to guess at the answer.

If you have never experienced that before it is likely that your "Snap Unit" has changed.  I believe it is set to 1" by default.  This allows walls and most other objects to snap to a grid and avoid fractions.  Check this in General Plan Defaults.  Or perhaps you have Grid Snaps tuned off ?

Makes me wonder if previously, whichever HD product you used had it's dimensions also Set to 1" like the Snaps, instead of 1/8th or 1/16th, so previously any in-accuracy was not noticed in the Dims. when Drawing as 4' 3/8" would of rounded down to 4' for example.

Thank you all so much!  I'm sorry I didn't indicate - previously I had a since-removed product (CA Home Designer Essentials 2018) which served my needs, mostly, for the time when I was doing interiors but the demand for interior/exterior, structural, etc. has increased so I recently upgraded to X15- which is amazing in it's capabilities obviously, but it's like jumping directly into the deep end of a pool out of a baby pool.  I'm sure I will have more difficult questions going forward - even I knew this should've been an easy fix but didn't know where to look.  This screen shot of where to change the defaults did the trick and I'm appreciative to you all, thank you so much!

I assume you changed the Default and all looks well in your existing Plans ?  I would not suggest you do this in New Plans started in Chief as it will make things

much more inaccurate when you have Jobs that require Detailed dimensioning. Chief is very accurate and it's a lot more work to try and "Fake" dims, if things

are not drawn accurately to begin with.
