Can anyone tell me why this shows up and follows around my arrow cursor? TIA

Very common question.

Some searching of the forum first will help many times.

Or better yet F1 key and launch that help file.

That is just a reminder that you have "Auto Rebuild Terrain" turned off and have made a terrain modification that is not displayed.  Your terrain needs to be rebuilt.   No reason to have that turned off unless you are having significant computer performance issues.

If I knew what I was looking for I wouldn't be asking now, would I. Smh.

I assume Ryan's point was to educate that you can ask the Forum, or you can ask Help. Just searching "Cursor" brings you to that topic.

Also take note of all the other cursors in that list, there are a few on there that can seem to appear mysteriously.

Yes.  If you search the forum for cursor or icon you will find this has been asked hundreds if not thousands of times.  It is one of the top ten newer user questions I would venture to say.

But I was also helping you out by showing you the help file of what you can search and the answer to your question.  Glad you got it figured out.  Glad @Chopsawwas able to write it out.
