HumbleChief
Is there an auto setting to get the walls to fill in above exposed rafter tails? Or is it necessary to pull up each wall manually?
Chopsaw
I guess it depends on what you are going to show in your documentation but I think a manually drawn attic wall would be a lot more compatible with most situations.
HumbleChief
Thanks Chop but that didn't seem to work? Tried it on a couple different test plans with no love. Have you had this work?
Chopsaw
That was just off the top of my head, so possibly not. We went over that exact situation in one of Scott's webinars about 5 years ago though and had it working somehow. If I have a moment I will see if I can find it. Chopsaw
I could not find the original posting but here is the video: About half way through Scott sets the sub fascia to 0 but I don't think that takes care of the proper wall framing.... DRAWZILLA
Did you try some rafter blocking there? Either turn it on in framing or add iit manually. the plate height and walls should stay the same height.

Thanks Chop. Found the info at 1:17:45 but can't get the settings to affect X14 in the same way. Perhaps it worked that way in X10 as in the video? Dunno but the roof rafters don't show when using the same settings in X14.
HumbleChief
It all looks OK as in the walls build to the 'soffits' but the rafters don't show. Interesting? Dunno.

Walls frame up to the sheeting (or soffit in this case) OK using your and Scott's technique in the video that Chop found but the rafters don't show. Chopsaw
Have a look at the framing view Larry and you will see what is happening. Turn off "Trim Framing to Soffits".
