How to do the decorative exterior steps, continuous, along a segmented curve?

In this badly botched model, you can see the segmented "curved" screened porch wall.  There is a door opening at the far end, and six of the seven segments are post-to-beam railings with middle and bottom rails.

 

What the client wants is two tiers of 12" tread-depth steps across here, all joined together.  The steps function as both under-porch decor, the floor being about 24 inches above grade, and as seating for overflow guests when there is a large firepit gathering.  

 

I draw the steps and Chief wants to make each panel a doorway, when I join the steps to the wall.  I need to suppress that action somehow.  

 

And how do you get the steps to miter together?

Emulate the steps as custom slabs or 3D solids or you could use a custom molding polyline, they all would work, look like stairs without messing with your screen porch.

Uncheck Automatic Rail Openings.

Leave Allow Wrap checked.

 

So are the wall and steps curved or a series of straight segments - it looks like they are straight?

Draw your stairs going down from house to terrain with alt. (I am not sure that is absolutely necessary but I did it anyway.)

It is important that all the stair sections are exactly the same, so best practice is to get one section as you want and then copy/paste as needed.

They should auto wrap together.

 

 

There is a different process for curved stairs.

Draw your straight stairs as wide as you need.

Select them and click on Flare/Curve Stairs on the Edit toolbar.

You will get a triangular grip at the top and bottom of the stairs.

You use these to pull a curve into the stairs.

 

You can do a different radius for top and bottom if you want.
