buzartiano
Anyone know how to make exterior vinyl fluted corner boards? 5 1/2" wide both sides? Thanks in advance
Joe_Carrick
It would be pretty easy if Chief allowed us to pick a Molding Shape but currently the only shape is just a rectangle. For now the only option to get something like that is by creating a CAD Detail.
Chopsaw
Same way you would do it when auto corner boards don't work but a little more effort involved to create the fluted profile. Polyline solid is my method. Personally I would not worry about the unseen parts of the profile or the cad detail if you can provide the manufactures code and color in a note. glennw
Or, you could draw the shape with cad and then save to the library. Then use a Molding Polyline using your new molding.

The thing I don't like about moldings for a situation like that is there is no 2D representation, without independently placing a molding profile ? Perhaps create the molding profile so it can be kept in the library then drop it in place and convert to a Polyline Solid or in X14 a 3D Solid. imodel
I would use a slab. I noticed a 3D Solid has a major lag in plan view with just one copy on my machine. I have blocked this so it could be added to the library. To use: place, unblock, edit if desired, copy, paste, point to point into position.
