Polyline Solid Default Setting

Hello everyone, 

My Polyline Solid is by default set to a 1" thickness.  Is it possible to changes this setting to a different thickness so that I don't have to change them every time?

There is no way to change the default settings for P-solids...they always come into your plan or section as concrete, 1" thick.

 

You could however create some solids of varying thickness and save them to your library for future use...but, it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

You can change the default material for psolids at Default Settings>Materials>Foundation/Slab.

But it will change the default material for those objects as well - so probably not much help.

Hi guys.  This is a very unfortunate design flaw, as it's almost always the case that when one is creating solids for 3d model details, concrete is NOT the material.  In my case, I would certainly set the material to a solid color before mocking up trim, stair, railing, beam, etc details.  The ability to set a default on this would be so helpful.  Of course, if you did set a default while working on this or that and then want to set a different default while working on something else, you wouldn't want your previous items to change to the new default and thus there would need to be a sticky concept as well.

In X14 you can specify material defaults (as well as all other parameters) for 3D Solids.

Glenn said it...with X14 solids now have default settings. Very nice!
