BIGROB.plan you totally rocked that! was it just a matter off connecting roof planes or did i have wall properties messed up? (i.e gable walls) thanks man! Doug_N
I would also make sure that you don't have pony walls as interior gable ends, remove wall caps from attic walls and define the siding for the walls as a wall type and not paint the siding in a wall type with a different siding.
SNestor
@ChiefUserBigRob - I made some edits to your plan. Made a few minor changes. I noted the things I changed on the plan. Hope some of it helps you... Harris_Ward-BigRob Fix Plan.plan.zip ALSO...The Chief "residential" plan template is a nice start...and it's great that they provide this template with some "saved plan views"...however, most of the layer sets attached to these plan views need some big help. I'd suggest to everyone using this template to start with the "roof plan" view...and turn off these layers; "gutters" and "overhang". Also...change the roof plane layer to "solid" line type and make it a bold color and at least 50 in the line width. Also...in defaults change the sun to "always follow camera"... And...in all camera views...lower the setting for "ambient occlusion" to at least 40. (default is 100...) And...I'd set the number of "lights" to 100...default is 20 I'd make a number of other changes to...but this is a good start.

winterdd
guys, to further complicate this home, it has a false ceiling. the living is vaulted all the way from the kitchen to the fireplace below two different height gables. my problem i ran into from day one is the highest gable coming down into the living space. i ballooned thru ceiling above but nothing. it has to be on top of the ceiling planes i manually created to close off the gable at attic level. i am not grasping these attic walls on this home......arghh. plan attached an dupdated. dormer also has to be functional and open to living space. StephenGreene
Rob, I just adjusted the offending wall point by point, in section view, to make it fit. Harris_Ward1:BIGROB.plan
