please tell me how to calculate the length of all the walls

A wall schedule will tell you the length of all the individual walls but I am not sure that it will total them for you.

 

It may need a custom macro.

You can just copy/paste the schedule into an excel spreadsheet and add them  up in there.  No macros necessary.

Thanks Michael,  That should work for most situations, but I think it could be set up to be live although it would be a lot of work to do it.

Yes.  Using some custom macros it can be done so that there’s a live total in the schedule.  I’ve set up a handful of similar systems for other users.  It really kinda depends on what the end goal is as to whether it’s worth the trouble of setting up and maintaining said system.

The Material List will give you individual wall lengths and a total length for each wall type.

You can use the wall schedule to display the wall length totals. 

Add "Wall Length" to the column in the dbx. Make sure to select "Sum Similar Rows".
