Colour shifting slightly when sending elevations to layout using plot lines

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I have been sending elevations to layout recently using the plot lines with color fill box checked for the past few months quite successfully, and then today I experienced what I thought was double vision, but actually what I realized i that the image doubled itself.  one version is the outlines of the drawing and the double  and the other is the colour infill slightly skewed to the left. 19 12 17 65 Clinton Presentation layout legal size.pdf

Just last week i did one for another project and worked just fine...December 7 2017 36 Deerford East Wall Kitchen Elevation with Exhaust Hood.pdf

anyone know what is going on here?

for now I've gone back to using live views.  I stopped doing that a while ago because my DH (the designer) hates seeing the blurry elevation in the live view.  ( I realize that it becomes clear when we print it, but it irritates him to see it when we are arranging the layouts)

This is a known issue - many previous posts about this behavior.

I only do black and white elevations and wall elevations using "plot Lines" so I have not seen this as I do not use color at all except for standard and ray-traced renderings.

James your example is a little worse than the current capabilities of the software however you still have offset in your good example and you should send in both to tech support and if they hear from enough people it will eventually get fixed.

      Hi
I am using x10.  I have a kitchen type that I will multiply many times and save by unit #. I need to have the unit # show up on my layout page for each plan that is saved.
Not sure how to save the units and have the info show up.
      Thanks in advance!

I am hoping someone can tell me how to handle this.  I have done all the framing, and using the project browser, sent all the Wall Details to a Layout page.  When I first did this, everything showed up perfect...The wall detail names on the walls in plan view, corresponding to the labels in the Layout.

Well, I made a couple of window changes, rebuilt floors and ceilings and now what I have is this: The wall detail numbers show up correctly in the plan view, but the layout shows: "Wall Layer 4 Viewed from outside".  I must be able to change the Views on the Layout to correspond with the plan view!

      HELP!!!!

      TIA

Does anyone have some decent ideas to keep track of details? I'm working on a large home that has over 40 details. If I decide that a particular detail, let's say it's #5, is redundant or not required, that means I've got 35 details and their callouts to renumber?????
I've been calling out details from the cross sections in layout, specifically so I don't have to open each section view (which is so tedious) in order to place callouts. But there's no schedule tool in layout to make any sort of auto-numbering system. And no linking system from the callout to the detail camera (I like to keep them live) or to the CAD detail (which I use for less dynamic details).
This is as bad or worse than the issues one runs into when using room numbers.
Surely there is some system within Chief for actual architectural plans?

      Hi everyone:

I am having an issue with a split level. I am using Chief X11.
The plan i posted does not have foundations since when i add those things get really weird and I think I need to sort out the issue with the levels first or the foundation will never build right. I have a room that is going to be garage however no matter how i define it the door from that room into the main house is above the level of the ceiling. see attached photo. I have also attached the plan. The exterior walls are a sip wall customized according to the manufactures specifications with a layer for the furred interior walls. The total thickness on those walls is 10 5/8" The interior wall is a customized interior wall that is load bearing for use in certain areas of the design.
