Nailerman19
Is there a way to use a door slab only without the jamb etc? In this particular situation we'd like to use a wide door slab as a narrow partition between a vanity and the toilet to provide a bit of privacy. Thanks. Chopsaw
A door slab is just a polyline solid so it would be easier to just use a polyline solid for your partition or possibly a thin railing wall would also work.
Kbird1
A Partition or Soffit from the Cabinet Tools will do that for you better as a Door will need a Wall etc to place it.....
Nailerman19
Thanks for the replies. I should have clarified that we'd like to use a three panel door to add some interest with the upper panel being a decorative glass to allow some light through. Chopsaw
So then open a new plan and insert your chosen door into a short wall and then change the wall to a room divider and remove all the stuff on the door that you don't want. Then create a symbol and use that in your bathroom. I have a tutorial with a few more details that might help as some of the procedure will be the same. rlackore
Okay, Chopsaw beat me. But anyway, here's a simple step-by-step: 1. Start a blank plan. 2. Draw an Interior Wall. 3. Insert the door you want, size it appropriately. Then open the door dialog box and uncheck Casing>Use Interior Casing; also set Hardware>Handles/Locks to None and Hardware>Hinges to Hidden. 4. Shoot an ortho view and remove the wall with the 3D>Delete Surface tool. 5. Now you have a door with nothing you don't need. Make it a Symbol with Tools>Symbol>Convert to Symbol. I typically define this kind of thing as a Millwork symbol. 6. Insert into your plan.
