J_Ward
I'm trying to figure out why cabinets that are painted with Benjamin Moore colors all of a sudden become semi-transparent. This doesn't seem to happen with the "stock" colors included in Chief.
MarkMc
Plan would help. Have not seen that and use BM all the time and just tested again, not reproducing. What color?
J_Ward
Color is Bright White Sheer--PAINTED: 2111-50 stone harbor. I also picked another few colors at random and observed the same issue. Plan link:https://app.box.com/s/z4a87d027799c6xwu9da032gl7to316d

Joe_Carrick
Edit that material's properties. Currently the transparency is 12%. ps: I prefer to assign the color in the cabinet dbx rather than using the "Paint" tool. It provides much better results
J_Ward
That was it, thanks. I have no idea why it's that way in X9. It wasn't in X7. I skipped X8.

I've never done it that way. What is the advantage? While I haven't looked side by side, my color in the dbx box shows the correct color that I painted it with. Joe_Carrick
Using "Paint" adds extra words to the material finish. Depending on the underlying material and other settings, it can result in a blending of the colors. Using the dbx actually results in a replacement rather than an extra - and as you see in your plan, a potential for unexpected results.

Only if you use the blender option (paint roller) using the material painter places the color. I checked the color from the BM catalog and it is fine OOB, so not an X9 thing. Must be some other cause for the transparency.
