ICTHOMES 1 Posted December 28, 2016 I'm getting double door labels? - See X8 plan/layout. Layout end-to-end dimension tool won't select geometry? Is it best to dimension in layout or plan? I have this blue border in my plan...how to I get rid of it? Thank you very much! Client_(Final)_1.plan Client Final 1.layout
BrownTiger 91 Posted December 28, 2016 You have two schedules one on Floor Plan: Floor 1 and one in CAD details WD Schedule Delete one of them
Richard_Morrison 447 Posted December 28, 2016 I haven't looked at the plan, but generally multiple labels means you've got multiple schedules. Delete one. NEVER put dimensions in the Layout. There is no way for dimensions in Layout to select anything in a .PLAN file. The blue box is just showing you the area that's going to print (printer margins), but will not print.
ICTHOMES 1 Posted December 29, 2016 Thanks, I gave ya both +1s Did that CAD detail auto generate I don't remember creating it or maybe I did an old template, forgot!...... Is it better practice to put schedules in a CAD detail?

No, it does not auto-generate. > Is it better practice to put schedules in a CAD detail It is a matter of personal preference, so you may get different opinions. The benefit of having a detail is that you can place it anywhere in the layout and multiple times. You can move it when your plan may or may not completely fit the layout page. Evolution 34 Posted December 29, 2016 Personally, placing schedules in CAD detail. But I'm not the Expert. I did like you once upon a time, and wound up with multiple labels, because I had placed a schedule on the plan and in a cad detail. I like the CAD detail myself. The benefit of having a detail is that you can place it anywhere in the layout and multiple times. You can move it when your plan may or may not completely fit the layout page. You can do all that anyway. Just send multiple cropped plan views. Easy peasy.
