Understanding floor gaps in 3D

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm new to Chief Architect and started by creating a practice plan using nothing but the default settings for everything.

I've created the attached plan and noticed that wherever the upper and lower floors didn't align there was a gap when viewed in 3D! Searching the forum and Google there is a lot of references to exterior wall thickness being zero, and that indeed did solve the issue. I can understand encountering issues when designing a wall but why would there be a gab when using default settings.

Thank you for any information.

I believe it is because on the second floor front there is no floor or roof designation I put a roof on that area and framed the house and all seems ok it this is what you were looking for
