  2. Hello, Trying to do a walk out on the left side of this house.. I have 4 Elevation splines drawn at 1034, 1040, 1050, 1060, and 1068... As well as a flat region.. What is the spike in the terrain? And the Flat region is not affecting the terrain as it should... X6 File.. Thanks
  3. Use Special characters and letters to force a useful categorization?
  4. Many entities can selected this way.. just not walls..
  5. Plan view is what I want but in Elevations the upper beam is shortened... All on First Floor.. there is no upper floor.. Any ideas?? The Beams are P-Solids..
  6. As far as Programs go.. That was solved years ago with Bootcamp (comes with Macs) which allows a Mac to Run a windows 7 session just like any PC.. You WILL need to buy Windows 7 64 Bit and install it.. But once done runs ANY windows program great...
  7. I remember asking this a long time ago... Towards the end of Project client asks to add a foot to the First floor ceiling of a 2 Story Custom home (with some attic rooms as well) .. In the last 20 years It is rare I don't do water tables, custom brackets.. etc.
  8. Thanks glennw!... The First Floor Brick wall type needed that small change and auto-Foundation built great... Starting to see how a lot of the time a lot of Chief issues are setup issues. Perry thanks.. Not in X7 yet so couldn't use your file.. but all is well now.. As far as errors go I have Auto Roof rebuild and there is a lot of Roof work still to do.. no worries at all.. What other issues did you see?
  9. Help please... An hour so far trying to get this to build right?... Do I have to do it manually??? (No problem IF that's what needs to be done) .. It keeps aligning the Pony wall Main layer with the outside brick on First Floor.... File attached... Thanks.. Hudlow.plan
  10. Joe... I have my answer.. (used the force,, ).. thanks..
  11. Joe... You truly are Yoda? You responded BEFORE I attached the pic.. What about the fixtures?
  12. Turned wall layers off and back on... Now all walls look like this... with all on in ALDO?? Also Fixtures are now labeled??
  13. I am a keyboard junkie so "H,L" and click on anything and it's gone...
  14. I look forward to that once I move to X7...
  15. Turn it off in Plan defaults...
  16. You are probably right... interactions between some entities can change when some are hidden temporarily...
  17. Forgive me if this has been asked somewhere... I love the Layer Hider function.. Allows me to work like in other apps.. Quickly hide a layer I don't wish to see (quicker computing as well)... Problem is it modifies the active Layer set... Ho do I prevent this?.. Thanks
  18. Middle click to pan... this is very interesting..

  20. Lourdes, Very good work...! Your website says you use Thea... Are the interiors David posted rendered in Chief or Thea? Thanks
  21. A great way to learn and head-off issues when under the gun is I go through the MOST complex jobs I have completed and think "how to do that in Chief?". I read the Forum and find solutions to these and add them to my Evernote "wiki" for my easy searching later... Chief basically needs a "Best Practices" Wikipedia that once built is editable by a few... Chief is NOT a program to learn (re-learn for me) under pressure.. It's the reason I left before (X1)...
  22. Could have saved himself 2 to 3 minutes not having to open that dialog box over and over again....
  23. Yes Alan... You print from Layout even very early in the design process??
  24. Moved the building into the blue box (print area based on drawing scale).. But more an art than science getting what you want in the print without the print getting clipped here or there..
