File, export, export picture

wondering if there is a way to change the what should be independent materials of a symbol
You can hack it into parts then re-assemble into a new symbol. At one point @Alaskan_Son had done a video on using the delete surface tool.
Basically I set the camera to clip surfaces within 0.1 in, hide everything except the symbol then open the symbol and set the smoothing angle high (120-180) Setting the smoothing angle that way makes it so more of a part is selected at one time when you use the delete surface tool.
For instance, RAS waste basket-
using delete surface tool delete the pails, save as symbol.
Delete the frame, save as symbol.
Place both new symbols in plan, change materials as needed, center pales on frame, adjust XYZ (transform replicate) location in relation to the frame. Sample attached (though I think RAS numbers may have changed or this one is not in current CA catalog)-( one of the completed symbols is set as a left- offset to clear open door if not using as a pull out)
Note- pails with lids can be a problem. If there are more than 3 or 4 materials needed and alternative is to export the symbol and adjust materials there (Sketchup, TurboCad Deluxe, some others) working in another program is a bit trickier though.

You need to go to the plan file to delete it.
Should be able to right click it, then select open view. IF you can't do that then the view is likely on Page 0. Anything on that page will show up in every layout page but can't be selected on any of those pages. FWIW it's good practice to put CAD details on a CAD detail page (find in your project browser) I stick to keeping them in CAD detail pages in plan. You can also place them in a CAD detail page in layout but scaling is more of a PIA in that case IMO.

Charles already mentioned this method earlier in thread.
Not really, I did not use an invisible wall. He may still not want this but the difference is that a symbol inserted into a wall (visible) all can be moved together.

IF you need to show these
20 hours ago, RobUSMC said:cabinets with roll back pocket doors
If you need to show these both open and closed there are two options. One is two cabinets each on a different layer, occupying the same space. Use layerset to switch the view.
The other way is to make door symbols- one for the doors closed and another for the doors open. You can then just drag the symbol onto the cabinet.
NOTE- if aligning doors is important talk with your maker. There are several different choices for hardware. The side reveals can vary from 5/16 to 0, there is always extra clearance at the top and bottom so you need to decide how you want to handle the adjacent cabinets and the sizing of the pocket door cabinet.
Attached zip file with video (a rarity for me so lets' hope showing changing the doors using symbols.
Below is also an image showing the stages I went through to make the symbols for use with Accuride 123 hardware which has 5/16 reveal on the sides. I fudged the open door position and extension since did not find all the specs for that.
The open position doors are easiest to do by converting a correctly sized door to a fixture, altering the offsets and locking the sizes in the stretch plane tab. Then use them as a shelf -one left and one right. Make one, flip it, convert to symbol and alter origin and stretch planes. This took just over an hour. Once done it can be altered to other sizes and doors in less time.

No idea what you want trim to be but- you can get the angle by starting with a side elevation, taking a detail from view. Copy the lin, maybe change layer and color- paste back into the elevation and start making solids. Then adjust from front elevation. Repeat for side. Attached plan has some of that started.

The lights you put in the room do you have to drop them down inside the cabinet? Can lights?
No, first thing I tried was putting lights into the cabinet but was nogo. Just light room normally. Then play with material definition- first slight transparency- these were 10% which was about average highest. Then emissive as noted depends on type of view. Oddly need more emissive for real time ray trace than for standard view. I have a hunch the image you posted was a standard view where 1 is too high.

Set some lights in room, dropped ambient a bit.
All counters set stretch to fit (some were from cactus catalog), all 10% transparent.
For standard view camera emissive between 0.1-0.3 for lighter tops,,2.0 and 3.0 for dark tops
For RTRT needed to change emissive to 30 (led) might play a little less for light / whiter tops.

Oops, noticed that the panel I used was off-num lock was off so set to 0 thickness instead of 1/4 which was why I had trouble with origin. Attached corrected door and panel. Use the panel to make new door if you need different rails and stiles.

do you have to deal with stretch planes? Aren't they are already built in to a library door?
Yes you have to redo stretch planes every time you make a new symbol.
FWIW the wainscot panel symbol took me a bit longer than normal to remember correct origin (have Covid not banging on all cylinders) Still using the door maker plan I've posted in the past; based on using countertops, wasn't longer than I could manage.

Architectural block will do that.

Can get the lines using side panel inset with 0 separation for left and right, Side panel inset with 3/4 separations back, false drawer so drawer box doesn't show.

Thought it might be grid snaps but just tested with and 2 plans without that on. Worked as expected as the object was already selected.

Create a fixture interior symbol from a wall cabinet- set option to inserts into Wall.
I used a custom shelf symbol set so it won't resize depth. That makes it go to the front edge.
Plan with symbols and parts attached.

Yes I have a 2070S in a laptop and it works. A good bit slower than the 3070. For a desktop I'd listen to Mick and move up to 3000 series, as he notes check space but also check power supply for either.

go into your defaults and check that box so all of your dimensions now work that way going forward
I've never been able to find that in the dim defaults- how about a screen shot?

Do you mind sharing what program I need to do that?
Here it is as a fixture symbol done in X14. Not sure if your version opens this?

an easier way to do this
First off I'm with solver on this, I see no need to dimension to those. End of run and islands I want to dimension aisle clearance, IOW counter to counter or wall.
In any case I have one client where this can come up.
Make it from a cabinet. You would do it the way the way that cabinet doors can be made. (at least the way I've been doing it forever since most of the brands I carried were not in Chief)
Make from a cabinet and keep in library. This eliminates the problem of extra dimensions by locating cabinet doors that Mick mentions.
Attached plan goes has a series of cabinets (note these are 35 3/4 high) used to get there.
Notes
You want to see open the DBX for each, pay attention to the sequence for setting the separations so they match a real door.
You will want to uncheck suppress adjacent room molding for that cabinet once done.
The wainscot panel used for this is included. For other door styles you will want to make your own. (see post I placed in symbols or maybe tips for making cabinet doors to make those using countertops and molding)
Make for wall, base and tall cabinets and keep in library. Or make a style palette for each.
Once made you can simply change out the wainscot panels for other door styles.
You can also change it to a full overlay gable on the fly-just change the front counter overhang at the same time. (or keep one of each in library

Seems like a difficult material to make for those of us not expert in that area.
A bit tricky yes. First issue is that if you just use that material on a panel it will use it on both sides of the panel.
Solution for that is to make a panel with different materials on each side. Look at the solids going from left to right in this plan.
As to making a thin glass mesh-On the outside of the building you will find a camera and a solid. This was used to generate an image, exported as PNG (no backdrop). Then converted to a material. Have to adjust the material to get the mesh size.
Then apply that material to only one side of an exploded solid. Convert to a cabinet door.
Place in cabinet (W24361) look at all the DBX tabs. Convert that cabinet to a cabinet door symbol. There ya go.
Was fun :))
Plan with parts and new symbols attached as well as library with material (and image just in case?)
Note if there is a problem with the mesh in the middle open dbx, select material, change y offset to 0 if it is not already.
