  1. The title about sums it up - plus the images. The Schedule show the Window count correctly but the window is missing from the elevation and plan views but yet the hole in the wall remains. If I attempt to add a window fill the space my count increases. Where is my window?
  2. Okay Gurus! Here is the plan. Appreciate your help figuring out why the Footings won't display. Added Plan file. Sorry Studio.zip
  3. Perry, You are absolutely right (LEARN) is the key word. I am learning but there is much to be done in the process of learning all the processes with CA. You, and this community, are an invaluable resource and one I do not take lightly. Many have said there is no single way to do things in CA so I am appealing to all for input. Thanks again,
  4. CT Guru's. I guess I just don't get CA Foundation tool so I have elected to create my own manually. Frankly, I need to be able to do this anyway as I have a Structural Engineer wanting me to do some CAD layouts for him. So my question is two fold. 1) my current plan has a Foundation level but I have all default "Footings" unchecked. You can't delete them so I can only think to hide them and do my own. 2) If I were creating just a Foundation plan and not a model, I would then need to Create the foundation on level 1 Okay, Blank Sheet. Created my corner footings from a polyline box with no footings checked in the DBX.. Layer is "FOUNDATION, FOOTINGS") Material is Concrete and fill is Concrete so they look like concrete in plan view Take an Elevation or Back Clip view and nothing displays (LAYER IS CHECKED - I GOT THAT MUCH) Take 3D Floor Perspective view and all looks great. (WITH ONLY THE Layer "FOUNDATION, FOOTINGS" CHECKED) What am I doing wrong that the Elevation view are blank.
  5. I spoke to CA about this yesterday and believe they agree. What I struggle with is how much detail is too much detail. In my case, and from a liability stance, submitting, all stamped and or certified documents separately in the permitting phase is a more plausible solution. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions,
  6. Joe, I'm getting lost in the riddles or just too stupid to understand what you're trying to say. To save us both a lot of time, would you be so kind and spell out the steps you think will solve my issue? Your pic pointed me to "FLOOR JOISTS"! I want to click on each TRUSS in my plan and provided each with its own individual label name to match the MFG's plan. If there is a way to use the Floor Joist tool to give every Truss a unique label I would like love to know your idea. Thanks again,
  7. Joe, Sorry but I don't understand your point..."Specify Label". That option is not available on a "Floor Truss".
  8. I would like to assign unique Floor Truss labels to match my Truss Eng/mfg designations. My plan file shows the Truss layout but I would like to add the detailed labels but see nothing other than "Suppress Label". Am I missing something? Thanks, Updated Truss Design.pdf
  9. Joe, I'm not familiar with the RC so what you are suggesting is not computing with my simple mind. What is supposed to happen when I type one the plan file names?.
  10. My attachment show the plan associated with the Layout, but what the Layout itself does not show is which of the LAYOUT BOXES within the Layout are associated with what file. Some are easy, my Notes are all in one file (Thanks DSH), and that one is fine. What is odd is most everything else has been removed except my notes. I could delete them one by one just to figure out issue but that is waste of time.
  11. Scott, Of all the people...I was counting on your for the answer! You let me down Bro! Kidding of course. I'll post the suggestion in the proper area of CT. Thank you both for replying,
  12. Joe, is there a way to see which one are linked to which plan? Most of my notes and details are from a plan I DO want to remain associated with the Layout so being able to see the file association from a Project Browser of sorts, would be great. Thanks,
  13. I'm trying to use an existing LAYOUT but without the links to the previous plan. The attached is the file shows the link I would like to delete. I would think a button "Remove plan reference" would not be much to ask, but then again may it's there and I am just not seeing it. Thanks,
  14. A silly fundamental question for you guys...I cannot locate the "Shiny Stainless.jpg" denoted in Graham's file (see attached). I am also questioning my the whole texture thing. I can locate a material Metal Stainless, (Rough, Brushed and Polished) but when using them they look more "Black than the SS appliances in my home. When I check my system Texture folder it is empty except of the "Metal001" that was in Mick's folder. Is this how it is supposed to look? The loading and use of textures and materials does not appear to be working as smooth and as automated as I think it should.
  15. Graham, At 25 cores the cpu's are running at 100% so, my logic is to set the default to 20 cores allowing me ample power to multi task with very little Degregation of my system. Short of portability of my system between work locations, I am more than pleased with the investment. She rocks!!!!!
  16. Yup! Dang Trees! Thanks Scotty. Did you see my email and Dropbox question?
  17. Settings?????

  18. How about this one? When I add a road Polyline it cuts a whole in my terrain parameter (TP) and all I see is the hole. What happened to my road? Also, when I attempted to change the thickness of the TP look what it did the vehicles wheels and body (they shifted and did not return when I reverted back to the original TP thickness. Weird Chit man!
  19. That did it! Funny part is I knew how to do it but have been so engrossed in other aspect of CA that that one escaped me. Thanks Gavin!!!!
  20. I have already placed Electrical and HVAC fixtures throughout my plan and would like to change the material from Bronze to white plastic. Is there a way to do this? I tried Group Selecting them but that won't work. Thanks All for your help,
  21. Graham, To your point. What I can do is set my Raytrace CORE usages to 24 (Dual E5.2620.V3) CPU's to 12 (Single E5.2620.V3) CPU. 24 cores (Dual CPU's) - 1:18 Minutes 12 cores (Single CPU) - 1:59 Minutes. See attached Raytrace speeds.
  22. I forgot I turned the point light on on one of the sconces. My second pass was 1:26. I can't overclock these E5.2620.V3 CPU (per Intel). I may try a few tweaks at some point. For now, I am happy to be back in business.
