Just wondering if anyone else has been receiving these inquiries. Over the past few years I am getting emails (at least 7-8) that start off asking if I provide Architectural Drawings for residential plans. I let them know that I am a draftsperson and give them information regarding my services. Here are the last 2 examples. I have pretty much just blown them off because I think it is a scam situation that is somehow trying to get my personal information and perhaps access to my financial information. They all seem to word it about the same. What are your thoughts?? Anyone else having similar experiences. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ April 28,2020 Hello, I am Fred .. Do you do Architectural Drawing and Designing for proposed new building also do you accept credit card for the payment? I reply that I am a drafts person and draw plans in so many words. Okay I want it to be to two Story, My budget is $2,000,000. i wish to start June and spend 12-14 months 6000 sqft lot size. Six Bedroom, with 2 living rooms per suite, 2 living rooms in total. This one gave an actual address. You can tell that English doesn't seem to be his native language. Not that that is a problem as a number of my clients are from other countries and have difficulty expressing themselves in English. We work it out with pictures and and they bring family members that speak English most times. But when it is put together with multiple fishy emails, it gets my radar up. Me Again!!! Another question because you folks are so very helpful. My client would like to use 4x12' instead of 4x8' sheets of drywall. Is there a way to change this in the defaults so that Chief Architect would calculate this size for the materials list?

Thanks a bunch. Everyone stay virus-free and prosperous!!

Will try. Thanks!

Anyone else having this difficulty. I have had difficulty pasting a picture from Snip and Sketch and a wall from another plan that was created in x12. Never had any problems in x10 doing what I am trying to do. I have tried control C, Control V, and using the actual copy tool in chief architect when I select the wall. The paste options aren't available (grayed out) Any suggestions. A little more information. I went to a different plan and copied a wall and was able to paste it into the current plan. Then I went back to the original wall I wanted in the other plan and was able to copy it and paste it in the current plan as well. What the heck????
-
It isn't where it used to be in x10.
-
Solved it. and change floor level
-
Another 12x problem where I could use some help. Seems to be a problem with identifying the floor that is being referenced in the layout. Anyone have the solution? This is whatI want and what I sent to the layout: This is what the layout shows it received

Excellent!!! Got it done. Thanks!!!
-
Ok. I will work on adding these. Can you tell me what the names are of the icons when you hover over them?
-
And of course it would work out that I don't have the icon available on my toolbar that you are showing. Suggestions?
-
Thanks a bunch, Eric!!!
-
Wow, that is different. Thanks for being there and helping me figure it out.
-
Thanks, I changed the default but it is still showing solid lines where I have the reference set showing dashed lines.
-
Where do I find this now? I have switched from x10 to x12 and can't find how to I can set the reference display layer set to the one I prefer to use that has all the walls dashed

Awesome!!!! thanks so much!!!

Good Morning! Anyone have a similar symbol or know how I can make a window like this one? Thanks!!!

Solved see below: K. I did something stupid and can't figure out how to get the layer display dialog box back to its normal size. Minimizing didn't work as this is the minimized size. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get it back to its smaller size. Well I figured it out before I posted my question, and thought I should post it in case I or someone else runs into this again. Maximize the dialog, and then there is a small area in the right lower corner that will allow you to drag the corner up and in with your mouse to the size you want.

Pretty!!

Thanks everyone for your guidance. I have breadcrumbs to follow now.

For me, sometimes the frieze boards show up and sometimes they don't or are only partially there. I am super happy that most of the gables have the auto frieze working properly, That just leaves the two front gables for me to deal with, thankfully.

You are correct and solids may be the way I end up going. Since I had time and other work to do, I want to learn if there is a way that is available using the moldings. I love learning shortcuts and this is the place to find them. Hope you Thanksgiving week is terrific!
-
True, but that takes more time to get it right. I may have to resort to that if an answer doesn't come in while I am working on other parts of the project. Just would rather have options available on how the molding is cut.
-
Is there a way to have the exterior molding to have a plumb cut or ,alternatively, a horizontal cut that follows the beam line? I drew a line and changed it into a 3d molding polyline.
