Joey, Give this a try, It should tile better.

Set your four gable ends to be gable walls and try auto roof again as Eric suggests. Save the old plan file if you like but nothing to loose at this point. Your fascia levels should match across the front. If you are going to roof it manually you will have to join the roof planes in the valleys but there is no reason I see auto will not work.

Yes it seems like yours was file corruption and mine was file omission and substitution but resulting in the same display result. Sorry I forgot to post my screen shot above.

Glenn I think I win the prize if you have not heard back from tech support yet. I brought a plan forward that had a custom defined unit for an antique survey of 1 Lot = 66' and because that was not defined in the newer version it defaulted to one inch. And this dimension was displaying with a value of 1 so 66'= 792" and maybe it makes sense somehow. Problem Solved.

Good Morning ED, I am sure Skype would have been more fun but I made a video for you instead to watch while I am sleeping. Give that a try but if it fails here is the library symbol that I made. Hope that helps. Waterfall Fixed.calibz

Ok thanks Mick, I also have a ticket in with Nvidia on a different PDF display issue and am using a much older driver for now. Maybe they have my issue figured out by now but still have not notified me to test for them. Maybe tech support can make something of it if Justin is good enough to send a copy in to them.

Start and End Indicators are in Preferences > Edit > Selection

No I am not so sure that is a good strategy but sometimes it is helpful to import a copy of the original survey and scale it so you can keep yourself oriented and trace over it and then turn it off when you are done. You should be able to draw a box for this one and edit your way around but I would likely start at the top left and go clockwise and leave the arc to the end.
-
Yes once you import your survey and select it that tool should show up at the bottom beside the Point to Point tool :
-
Point to Point looks like this and should show up at the bottom of your screen :
-
Point to point will only be useful orienting individual lines. You can use the box method by going around and editing in one direction but I am not sure you have a true box for your survey. Did you try importing Richard's DWG file or I saved my corrected X8 file if you would like it I can post for you. Personally I enter one line and then connect to the end of it for the next line. It is helpful to display your end points when using that method.

They did not make it difficult on purpose it is just not done very often and the tool is just a general tool. And yes it could be much easier and likely is in other programs. I will be free in about 5 hours and could make you a video or connect with you on Skype but I have another job to do right now. The process will be as Michael describes at the end of the video for trimming the styles of a door. Practice on a door and it should make sense as to how you could use that method on your symbol.
-
Watch the video again and don't get frustrated. This is a complicated procedure you are wanting to do. The Trim tool will not work for this. I will check back with you this evening if you genuinely can't figure it out.
-
It does not matter what camera you use to look at the object. It is how you use the Uniform Stretch Zone controls for the symbol to carefully resize just the ends. There is no button labeled trim. If you want to do something big with one click just hit delete.

This is not stuff you should have to know. This is the stuff tech support is supposed to fix.
-
Justin, You may not have to delete them all. I am trying to isolate and so far it is only some of the angled ones and only on the main floor.
-
Room Polyline down at the bottom after you select the room.
-
Mick, For some reason I can't get that to work for me. Are you testing in X8? The blob is actually Blue. Did you notice the temp point with the text and did you do anything with it?
-
Justin, Very interesting situation, There is something on the Rooms Layer that only shows up in the PDF and I assume makes quite a mess when you print. I am sure tech support would be quite interested in looking at the file if you wanted to send it in. I am not sure I have an explanation but you might get away with turning the layer off and manually replacing your room fills with some room polylines.

Sure I have found that using Absolute camera Angles is a lot more work but can also give you much more control on a longer walkthrough. Adjust your speeds relative to the default 3.0 ft/s which is usually about the fastest I go in an open space. Slower in confined areas and detail views also much slower in corners and turns. Run a few tests at a low frame rate ( 3-5 ) without shadows and then set your Duration Along Path to control the overall speed. Once you think it is good run one at 30 FPS and see how it looks. You can also reduce you Incremental Move Distance and Incremental Rotate Angle in your General Camera Defaults to smooth things out a bit. Upload to YouTube and post on the forum for unbiased critique.

Almost everyone with a PC has free Adobe Reader and I have been trying to include as much as I possibly can on my PDF's for that reason. Photo's, Links, 3D etc.. Clients can scribble or highlight things, add arrows, add text, and apply sticky notes. This is all fairly basic but I still have people that print things out and scribble then rescan at about 1/3 quality and send back.

Ray, We are currently a bit limited in Walkthrough Path Recording Defaults which I have been struggling with as I like to set up a path early on in the build and use it to record several stages of the build for the contractor and client. Unfortunately the defaults we do have are not unique to the walkthrough camera and the settings required are usually quite different than the other cameras that share the defaults. So we have General Camera Defaults and the Camera View Layerset to work with and can control The rendering Technique,Shadows,Bloom,Reflections, and Ambient Occlusion. Also Artificial lighting and Interior and Daytime Ambient Light levels. Not sure it that answered the question or not but you can clarify if needed.

Ok this is a bit of a guess as you are not providing a plan file but it looks like maybe you have imported some sort of a Symbol terrain feature that is set to "Insert Into Terrain Hole" Unfortunately you can only get a square or rectangular terrain hole that way but because you also have an elevation difference with the Symbol it is more of a problem and you might be better to work the terrain a little in combination with a Customized "Terrain Hole" to try and make a good fit. Simply trimming the Symbol will not solve the whole problem however it is possible using "Uniform Stretch Zones" Here is a video that Michael made for that process on a Door but it is really the same thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLZzdiUV8uo

For now you can just keep setting up the Camera View set and then making copies of it an renaming them as you make changes. I understand there are some changes coming but don't know the details so it never hurts to add another suggestion to that forum and this would be an important one for sure.
