  1. Interesting. OK.. that's exactly what i will do. Will let you know one way or the other. Stay warm up there.. cold as Canada here in MO.
  2. I have done hundreds of renders (Ray Traces), if not a thousand and all of a sudden my last two have had issues with a backdrop scene. Its pink! All is good when I delete a backdrop (1st) attachment, so slightly confused since no setting have been changed. And it shouldn't be my system either.... I changed the backdrop to different scenes and still get that pink sky. I attached two of the backdrops I use. I go to google earth and screen grab the lot where home is being built. It gives a little sense of reality IMO. The reason I loaded here, is with trial and error, I can do the RT's with Chiefs backdrops, and a couple other google earth lot views that appear to have a darker blue sky.. I don't know.. maybe I am fishing here. But if one you fine people can use one of these backdrops and run a quick one pass RT and see how it looks.. I would appreciate it. OR if you happened to know why I am getting what I am getting.... that would be great too.
  3. Two things... did not see all your gents replies, because it appears I keep getting logged out??? I know this was mentioned before on another discussion. Guess that wasn't fixed. And Graham, your 100% right. This is why my builder wants this shown (in the model and on a detail). He has already experienced the "that's what the drawing shows" on other items.
  4. Yeah I agree. We have the options of Nosing on landings, but those are square. And we can set the thickness and overhang of tread, and that's it. Thanks for validating what I thought...
  5. That's exactly what I am doing ( A DETAIL).. because I didn't see an option in the stair dbx.
  6. Anyone have an idea on how to place a bull nose on each tread? Besides manually using a poly x 16? My builder is having major issues with inexperience framers and finishers, so in essence, if I don't show a nosing, they will not know to put it on.
  7. Thanks Java.. As I was getting ready to hit Rene up on Teamviewer, I saw your post. I knew it was off by a hair.. but didn't think that would make the difference, but it did! To test this theory, I made another exterior straight wall, with a mild offset, and windows come in fine.. but it doesn't on curved walls. Learned something else today. Thanks everyone.
  8. I thought the same too about the wall heights, but the attached plan has correct wall heights and that does not seem to be the issue.
  9. I have the most updated version.. just did last week. I noticed the miss-alignment too.
  10. hmm.. somethings not right then. I did what you suggested (tried b4 also) and this is what I get. I couldn't do it in the file I attached earlier, but you could. Weird...
  11. Please see the attached view and plan. I have an open below room that will need additional windows located on the second tier. I can put the windows in, but the walls are not "cutting out": Any help will be appreciated. Everywhere else in this house, no problems of second floor windows.. but they're all straight walls. Thanks in advance CURVED WALL ISSUE.zip
  12. I will check them both out... all these steps seam like a PITA though. BUT it will get me where I need to be, so THANKS BTW, I added a suggestion for CA to add options to add more windows if needed..
  13. Having the same issue as Dan... I like the ease of using the box window, but why cant we add another window(S)? And why doesn't the "one" window come in with the defaults (type, casing, etc.)? So, if you want more than one window, you have to make one manually. Follow that tutorial and it has you create a room, raise the floor, and put a door way as the opening. See the attached, this is what you get on a first floor room. It thinks this is a room so foundation adjust to catch, the terrain cuts away, and terrain features. Can't post plan (contract reasons), but this is something the experts on here should be able to duplicate with their own CA. Thanks for the advise in advance.
  14. Finally got back at this, and I did your trick by changing to a thicker ceiling plane.. it was always there just couldn't find it in the model. Thank you Eric... see pict for fixed plane.
  15. yes good morning. In your first pict, I wanted to continue that ceiling plane all the way to the back wall. In my attached model, there was a plane, but I cant see it in the model, so that's what was messing me up. Is the 24" thk the trick?
  16. What you saw in the attached picts is what the entry looks like after I put my roof planes in and marked the rooms accordingly (no ceiling above room). I posted below a butchered model just to show this area. You can see I have a ceiling plane too, that doesn't show in the model. Your help (or anyone's) will be appreciated. 898_Ponte_Vedra_Blvd_for_ca.zip
  17. Just spent an hour looking over past Q's and A's on this, not really finding a solution. I am trying to continue a cathedral over a high ceiling entry to the back wall, but instead the ceiling plane follows the roof plan line. (Basically I want to continue the room plane back) I have played with the many of the options I mentioned below, including putting in a ceiling plane but get nothing. With ceiling above room off, why doesn't a ceiling planes appear? Elsewhere in this home where I have cathedral (via ceiling planes) I have no problems... I have ceiling over room unchecked I have ceiling default finish unchecked I have checked and unchecked roof over this room I have unchecked and checked Use Room Ceiling Finish Checked and unchecked knee walls, because it kind is like a dormer BTW, I cannot post plan, per contract obligations. Builder specifically mentions this.
  18. Does the applicant need to be local? BTW Go Blue.. :-)
  19. Have you tried taking Ambient Nighttime to zero? That's what I run mine at. (see attached)
  20. I think something else is going on here TKA. I am placing light fixtures in this new model, now that the room layouts are good. I only had four of the can lights in, no other electrical. I did turn off all but one, and still wont show the "glow". And my vid card should be more than adequate. My other models, where as I have tons of lights, I do turn off all rooms I am not RT, and some rooms like a family/game room I just did had 12 cans, 3 pendants.. when this would happen, I would turn one light off, then back on and they all would glow.. all 15 lights. But really, its all good, because it turns out on RT, just missed the convenience. Thanks for replying and getting my wheels turning.
  21. Don't know about HDS but in Chief Premier, the wall cabinet specification, there should be a molding tab. Just delete it. The CA73 is the shape of the molding, many to choose from. You can set your molding individually (per cabinet) or by your standard default (the white wrench on tool bar)
  22. Interesting... I did not know this. Is there a way to change that standard setting? I mean, it seams most kitchens have more than that now with the cans, under-cabinets and pendants. Not a big deal like I originally said.. just mentally like seeing the glow.
