  1. Oops. Maybe I meant "Install core content". Either way, I'm fairly certain I've done one or the other before for items missing from my core content.
  2. Maybe try to "update library catalogs" to get that Exteriors folder back?? In the meantime... Untitled 2.zip
  3. Check out this link, but to me it seems it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Might be easier to just manually enter the numbers... http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01846/
  4. I think maybe you are referring to CASING?? If so... "Colonial" is also used for multiple trim profiles, but CA-03 seems to represent one of the most common profiles to carry the moniker in my experience.
  5. I think you need to give a little more information, attach a picture, or something. I for one do not know what you mean by "colonial window casement" and there is no "casement" tab in the window DBX.
  6. You can use your tab key as well as your arrow keys, and the home and end keys to very quickly get what you want. To me it would make sense to have the top "tab" highlighted which is the case whenever I open a door dbx, however with a window the "window type" is highlighted. From there it only takes one hit of the tab key to get to the width, however one way or another it should be a little more consistent. With text I get the exact same inconsistent results as you. I would much prefer to just have the cursor activated at either the beginning or end of the text rather than have it all highlighted (in which case typing anything essentially deletes EVERYTHING), however, again...something consistent.
  7. Seems like a pretty basic thing and maybe something I'm just overlooking, but... Am I correct that there is no way to send a text box directly to the library?? It seems the only way to get it there is to combine it with something else to form a CAD block. Seems like a silly extra step that shouldn't be required. Am I missing something??
  8. Defaults>Dimensions>Temporary dimensions Your options are pretty limited though. I don't use those dimensions hardly ever. I just place my own dimensions and use those to make adjustments. That's just me though.
  9. I would personally do exactly as you have it drawn up, OR use a highly customized double door.
  10. Zip and attach a file and I'll give it a shot if you'd like.
  11. Its under Defaults>Dimensions. See attached screen shot
  12. You might want to watch some of the videos, check some of the articles under Help>Launch help, or read though one of the Chief Architect manuals to get a good handle on how to use dimensions. A couple quick tips though... -Double click on the dimension tool you're using to adjust the settings. Depending on which tool you're using, it will only locate certain objects, and snap to certain locations on those objects by default. -You can select the dimension itself (without selecting the wall) and change the location of one end or the other to a different layer or side of the wall by simply selecting the little box associated with the end of the arrow and dragging it to where you want it. Hope that helps.
  13. Curious...Why are you using the viewer if you have the real program??
  14. Not sure exactly what you're after, but you can probably use the distribute along line tool for what you're trying to do.
  15. Joey DID have the correct answer. He said to UNCHECK that box.
  16. It works fine for me. Did you make sure to open the elevation view from the layout and update it??
  17. Jon, I think what you're probably not doing is... You need to change the line style for "Walls, Foundation" for the dashed lines to show up in elevation.
  18. If you change your "Schedule To Text", it will no longer update any changes. Is it possible this is your problem??
  19. Can you be more specific?? If I understand correctly, among other things... 1. Open the garage room dbx on the 1st floor and on the structure tab uncheck "floor supplied by the foundation room below" 2. Open the garage area room dbx on the foundation level and on the structure tab uncheck "roof over this room" and "floor under this room". Also, change the "ceiling finish", "floor finish", and "floor structure" dimensions to zero. There are probably other things you'll need to mess with, but with the limited information I have, that's what I can offer.
  20. I'm a little hesitant to say this because I know you're such a highly respected Chieh Architect genius, however... I think you might be wrong. Rebuild walls/floors/ceilings if checked might cause the gutter to rebuild, however the gutter will rebuild even if the box is unchecked if "auto rebuild roofs" is not also unchecked (both must be unchecked).
  21. That does not sound like it would qualify as "slopes slightly" to me. That would be the single most extreme garage slab slope I have ever seen. Did you perhaps type those number incorrectly??
