  1. Michael,

So what you are saying is that for Polylines you use the Polyline Union Tool and for Polyline Solids you use mostly the Polyline Solid Intersection and Subtraction Tools.  Is that correct?

That is correct Joe. Sorry, I wasn't really thinking the tools had different names for 2D vs. 3D work, but you're right.

  2. I've used the union tool quite a bit, and I think the subtraction tool for a custom door once, but never the intersection tool.  I imagine if I started doing more primitive modeling I would use that as well though to get some more complex shapes.

  3. How can I change the wall Elevation symbol, make it smaller, or remove it? I have tried to turn layers off, but nothing. I have tried settings but now I need help please.

See attachment below...The way the camera label is displayed can be customized quite a bit.  Specific to your question, you can change the callout size to something smaller or even zero and delete the label.

Not sure why you can't get the callouts to disappear by turning the layer off.  I would guess the cameras are actually open or you accidentally placed them on a different layer that is still on.

  4. The Cabinet needs to be very small with a half-round Edge Molding on the Countertop.  In this case I used a 6" Tall Edge Molding and a 3" corner radius on the top itself.

That's exactly what I was thinking Joe...at least one of the ways. I'm not by my computer again but the other way I imagine it would work was using appropriately sized bow front or radius and cabinets with appropriately sized half round or quarter round mouldings.

  5. I haven't actually looked into my internet speed for sometime. Turns out we're on a 768K plan which they don't even offer anymore, so I guess I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for. I can get up to a 20M plan but it looks like thats as fast of service as our carrier here will provide.

I was pefectly happy with my service before this thread now all the sudden it seems super slow...

    Thanks a lot Scott.

Edit: It looks like my subdivision is one of a lucky few that has fiber optic lines buried and so I can get up to 75M internet service. Sounds intriguing but costs like $150 a month vs. I think $45.

  6. The problem of three singles stuck together is the styles are doubled. I am using inset-framed. Our shop builds custom pieces to size and would prefer a single 90" over (3) 30" in some applications.

We also use a lot of custom built larger "one piece" units.  I simply change the stiles to half of what I want them to be (i.e. 3/4" instead of 1-1/2") which solves the double stile issue.

  7. Wow,  that sounds so awesome.....  Lynn and I love your state,  we are going back in 2017.......  it's a cruise.......  what city are you in.......  if we meet up I could bring you some genuine San Diego Sand from the beach........  you can't eat it.......  and it's usually from a polluted beach.....  but it is genuine San  Diego Sand.

Man...that sounds AWESOME!  I would love some sand from sunny San Diego : )

We're in Wasilla...about an hour to an hour and a half from Anchorage.  I work almost exclusively in Anchorage.

  8. Yeah Michael,  you are out in the hinterlands.  BTW,  how is the Salmon this year,  I won't forget the Salmon you dropped by my office several years ago,  good stuff,  thanks again.

You're more than welcome sir.  I'll try to bring more next time we head that way.  My wife makes some killer smoked salmon.

And salmon is ALWAYS good Scott as long is its there and you catch it before it starts to turn.  My in-laws had a pretty slow commercial fishing season, but us...we did better.  The Dept. of Fish and Game will occasionally open up a creek about 5 minutes from our home for subsistence dipnetting.  Its right on the ocean in about 40 feet of glacial silt and clay and the tide rises and falls about 20 ft. or so  We ended up catching I think 40 fish.  It was a wonderful, disgusting, muddy good time : )

  9. To date I've never really cared and the DSL plan we have is the slowest they offer.  Its really just been a money saving thing.  I guess I always have enough work to do that it doesn't bother me too much to wait a bit.

That being said...that grass over there is definitley looking pretty green.  Seriously though...ours is starting to turn and we're waking up to frozen water puddles in the mornings.

  10. Holy Kamoly Michael,  are you guys using metric units or are you still waiting for something to download from last week?

The number looks slow, but it really doesn't seem all that slow.  I also don't download a lot of videos though and any other downloads I have to do I just let run in the background while I'm doing other work.

To compare something we all have experience with...it takes I think 20-30 minutes for me to download Chief updates.  Thats probably the most notable thing I ever really download very often  though.  Most documents take several seconds with some large PDF files taking maybe up to a minute.  Some larger Chief libraries may take up to 5 minutes.

  11. I don't really want to play, but my instinct would be to use a base cabinet as well. It's kind of cheating though because it could be argued that it utilizes a bunch of the disallowed items.

In addition to the items above it could be used for the tile, wallcoverings…heck, even the foundation, framing, and drywall could be built out of base cabinets.
