  1. Double click on the railing walls you want to change (usually better to adjust the railing wall defaults before you draw any railing walls; you can then save them in your user library for reuse). The dialog box that opens up is where you set the items you wish to change. The "room" sets things like the height of the ceiling and any floor structure.

I think I was just use to them being darker and more uniform

I do set things like windows and doors, in the elevation layer set, to something like 25; same way with railings. Makes them stand out from the pattern lines. I also set the roof planes to 40 in the elevation layer set as well as the corner boards and the foundation walls - I like the outline of the building and main features to really stand out.

  3. I like to use a line weight of 1 for my patterns; gives them a subtle presence so they don't overwhelm the edge lines. Most of my edge lines are usually 25-40. Your attached elevations above look fine to me...more like what I would normally do. So, is my normal...normal? Probably not; not sure there is one among users since we are all individuals.

I can't check on it now, but I think it was possible to start by drawing the camera view inside the room and then backing the camera out of the room which maintained the room lighting - I am a bit vague on this though but will check when I am in front of Chief next time.

I do it this way sometimes so I can maintain the room lighting (as Glenn says). If you save the camera in that position it will usually lose the room lighting next time it is opened for some reason. At least that is how it has worked for me in the past. Not sure if the "Hide Camera-facing Exterior walls" works with the room lighting, whether the room lighting still works or if it is lost in that view.

We've had the option to select No Room Moldings since X11, but the separate options for Interior and Exterior weren't actually added with the upgrade to X12.  They were snuck in with the 22.2.0.54 update...

    Thanks, Michael.

I would encourage all of y'all to get into the habit of reading the Release Notes every single time you upgrade.

I do that, but I sure didn't remember that one.

Yea, been there, done that. Couldn't find one.

After I posted, I noticed you wanted a rectangular one. The one in the library is round. Might could "fake" one of the dryer-type vents. 3D Warehouse?

    dimensions are soooo busy!!

That's why I don't usually use Auto interior; just too busy. It takes me more time deleting or modifying the ones I don't want than to just add the interior dims manually. I know I can set up what the Auto dimensions dimension to but that is sometimes problematic.

Drawing dashed-line slabs works for me, and they get put on the same layer as other footings.

Same here, but I also agree it should be automatic as that's the way it is done in the real world.
