  1. After the long rant I also totally forgetting to mention prompts... Imagine the possibilities and accuracy if there was something referencing the direct model & material information as a prompt in itself. (check out the enscape chaos engines) A DBX like the PBR one for controlling ai effects, what it touches, what it doesnt etc. Save a rendered background as a default setting etc..
  2. So here's a good question, and something I think having a built in, custom developed AI engine that doesn't affect the architecture would be ideal... but wouldn't it be amazing if it also worked the other way around. If you do an exterior render, client wants to see different siding options... we need to be able to change JUST the building and leave the background etc the same. I've noticed that trying to get the same setting / lighting / background / trees / shrubs etc to stay, even using my adobe firefly subscription is almost impossible. Krea AI's live image editing tool seems to do the best by using the previous image, then cutting out the image of the new siding and putting it ontop but its SO clunky and not 100% accurate. See the attached photo for example. Anyway this confuses soooo many people "why is everything else in the picture different now" etc. If we could do this with the AI image enhancement that would be ideal. Almost exactly like we have the button for "denoise view" we could have a "AI Image Enhance" that has similar controls to all the other camera views but is built on a code level to not change ANYTHING other than output image detail, lighting etc but with it using all of the already available model & material information built in as a custom prompt almost.... that's about as far as my brain takes it, but I'm sure some coding genius could make it happen! Our community here is pretty awesome. We. Need. Repeatable. Results. I also thing people have been asking for years now that chief have render plugins available. If i understand correctly what @Michael_Gia is saying, if we could link to Unreal Engine & Twinmotion / Enscape / D5 / Luminon for both repeatable outdoor settings and accurate architecture representation. But the kicker is that it HAS TO be a plugin / integration / built into the subscription already, no one else makes you pay extra they just include the plugin / functionality direct.
  3. ah, yes, the ol' acme double tag negative switcha-roo. I knew "someone" would have a good solution for tagging and sorting Thanks for this, sometimes I can stare at something so long it just stops making sense.
  4. With winter coming around I've been getting ready to go through and rework / organized my user library and cad details. I'm trying to streamline things, reduce clutter and group as much together as i can with the management system, folders and tags. With this I've been cleaning up the excess, then applying keywords and tags to the items left after the cleanup. I was hoping to make this a little easier by applying a search filter that will only show the "un-tagged" items or items without tags etc. I've looked through the library custom filters for a while now and cant seem to find anything that would work. Am I missing something obvious here in the filters for "has keyword" or "has tag" sorta behavior? Does anyone have any suggestions on a "clean up" workflow / alternative?
  5. Ah-HA! of course it was something that easy. Seems a little counter intuitive etc as you have to switch to joists, change, then switch back. But it worked, much appreciated, thank you.
  6. Hey there folks, having some issues with my floor truss's and the Truss Direction label isnt reporting the right size. This is probably something really simple, what am i missing here?
  7. I think I'm having a similar issue. When doing RSI calcs in excel, i do a print screen and past into a CAD detail. I used to be able to save that pasted image to the library, now i cant. Thoughts?
  8. This is how I ended up solving this problem, works great. Keep in mind all your terrain features will have to be on that level as well.
  9. My first guess would be that sometimes with a new install you need to re-adjust your power settings. Make sure its not set to "Power Saving" and set to "Performance" Maybe?
  10. Mac's haven't been very compatible with CAD software for pretty much.. forever.. how are you surprised? Mac salesperson: Its not upgradable, will always be a hassle, only compatible with other apple products, but hey.... its white and glossy! Mac userbase: Also that machine is probably still super capable for almost anything except X17, far from "obsolete". Just the usual unwanted $0.02 from a former mac user that's made the switch. Make the switch and never worry about your PC again.
  11. So this is all happening with macros etc? Ive tried figuring this out but some items dont really report back what you need without customizing every label. If only my employer believed in saving time with templates *facepalm* I'd pay outa pocket for some extensive macro training, but unfortunately cant do the whole system outa my pocket hah.
  12. not shown in the video but reference item being auto labelled via the arrows, thats a big one.
  13. Thanks for the reply Chris I was trying to get the joists to break & lap over the beam underneath and keep to 12' boards for the build. I did end up making things work by making a foundation level under the deck room and used the bearing lines where i wanted the break. When it was just a deck on level 1 without the lower level, the joists weren't breaking over the beam, with or without bearing lines etc.
  14. has anyone gotten this to work? what about on a deck? my joists are building in at 20' long and i want to split them to max 12' boards etc.
  15. Id love to hear peoples thoughts on this also. This would be such a handy feature if I knew more about using it.
  16. "workstation" computers in general seem like a scam these days, unfortunately I've heard nothing good about those ada RTX 3000 etc cards. Good luck.
  17. I think this is the way to go, or at least how i fixed this last time i came across it. If all else fails...
  18. sure... but i also have spent plenty of time trying to figure this out myself already, i came here for an answer, not a cryptic picture that shows nothing with no explanation at all and if you look thru his posts they are mostly all like this with some cheeky attitude then someone else actually explaining it. If i want training, i'll pay someone polite that actually shows a history of helping people instead of one cryptic post after the other. Ive been thru trade school and 4 years of college otherwise, the best teachers were the ones who took the time and explained things clearly, the worst were the cryptic buttheads who made you struggle and guess and waste time. Same goes for online. Look at his post up top, and tell me you get ANYTHING from it. Now if anyone has something actually constructive to add to this that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i think i have the wall fixed up
  19. I havent done any exterior "painting" on that part at least. Its supposed to be the same as the attic wall above, but it seems to default back to an interior wall type, or none at all. I have it now so its all one type. Not sure what the heck i did but it worked. Thanks to everyone that gave some useful advise / ideas to try.
  20. This wall here is what seems to be my main problem. Ive tried setting the wall type the same as the rest of my exterior walls but when i do it either stops at the btm roof line in the right wall type, or extends thru like this with a different wall type.
  21. agree to disagree, your comment added nothing but and image and confusion.
  22. Thanks for this, i have that one figured out now, but for some reason the one on the lower side of the garage is still acting up. Would this have something to do with setting the proper wall type below roof intersections?
  23. I dont mean to offend... but maybe i do... looking through your posts, are all of your "answers" this cryptic and rude? This response adds nothing to the conversation, and pretty much only serves to your ego.
