  3. Put your best engineers on Fixing stairs and elevations (useful stuff) and put the newbies on the GUI stuff 8]
  4. I agree - coming from Revit, AC or ACA the GUI makes it feel like a downgrade

  7. Since I opened this thread I would like to close it and in conclusion I would like to point out that the (2) most requested items desperately needed to be "fixed" are: Stairs and Auto Elevations Why do we have to wait for these fixes any longer? Why do people speak of waiting to see if perhaps they will show up in X8 or X9? Perhaps beta users know something we don't ? - I really hope CA engineers are paying attention to this thread because its customers have spoken. Is all about your customers needs - don't become another Autodesk please...... Thanks everyone for your input
  8. If you need PDFs I can print in cad. Let me know Raul
  9. I think CA should start compensating members who help other users solve CA issues / troubles. How? Give them discounts on SSA or perhaps resource materials - in all honesty some of the expert users are actually saving CA money and time by taking a load off their customer support <<<I might be completely off on this but that's what I think
  10. Get better and provide better services/products than your competitor - There is enough business for everyone
  11. "Overclocking is the process of forcing a computer or component to operate faster than the manufactured clock frequency (hence the name "overclocking"). Operating voltages may also be changed (increased), which can increase the speed at which operation remains stable. Most overclocking techniques increase power consumption, generating more heat, which must be dispersed if the chip is to remain operational."
  12. I would rather CA to fix all the "work arounds" first (stairs, niches, elevations, columns, etc and etc) than for them to spend their efforts in improving the rendering engine - I think what we get works great for quick presentations (I have seen others who create some nice renderings inside Chief) - my 2 cents
  13. Built right - heres is a page that shows video card benchmarks http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html <<t
  14. I am not an "official" CA user but I think you can select all the windows then use the center tool to center in the room?
  15. We store all of our files on the server - the SSD will be just for program installation, I know is small but that is the only size Dell offers for that machine.....we can always add another internal SSD

  20. Hello Chiefers - I manage an architectural department for a production/semi-custom builder and I am in need of a good residential draftsman. I don't care what software version you use as long as you can follow the project specifications and can produce an accurate, clean and good looking set of architectural drawings. My budget allows to contract someone on an hourly basis (per house contract) with a not-to-exceed dollar amount. The right person will finish projects in a timely manner and needs to be someone reliable who can turn in projects whenever they say they will finish. Currently I have backlog of about 13 house plans so the right person will start working ASAP (Experience with American historic styles it will be a huge plus, most of these houses are in historic districts or infill areas) The plans you will produce will very standard: Cover Sheet, Foundation Plan, floor plans, roof plan, exterior elevations, minimal wall section/details (We know how to build houses, don't need a ton of details) and electrical layouts. The plans will be around 2500 to 3400 SF. I want to contract someone who has plenty of experience working with production home builders and not someone who makes their living doing additions or remodels. If you meet the requirements and are interested, please email me your hourly rates as well as some recent residential samples. Please email me at: raul.torres@thesrteam.com Thanks
  21. Joey - you need to do a webinar on your setup, charge a participation fee and start doing consulting work. Your style/setup will suit us in production building perfectly
