  1. Hey Joey, I tried these settings and like them so much better than the default. Thank You
  2. Darned if I don't know what that means. How do you adjust layer line weights P?
  3. How do you all set up this dialog box?
  4. Thanks so much for the replies. I see 2 good ways to accomplish the task would like to change the default size but this will do nicely.
  5. Specifically a GFCI outlet's label to make it more easily read in plan view?
  6. Thanks Tea, Can I assume that's a manually drawn attic wall then reshaped?
  7. Not sure if Chief is capable of such a model? Any help greatly appreciated. https://www.dropbox.com/s/07uig0ulmav4rqx/RAFTER 2.plan?dl=0
  8. ...and Eric (Solver), in a personal message, was kind enough to point me back to a previous thread I started with the same question. DOH!!
  9. Thanks Gene, the slope is very shallow, probably 1/4" - 1/2":12 so plumb rafters are not a problem and I could have sworn there was a way to do this? Thanks Again.
  10. Can't remember how to do it? I've got an as built shallow sloped roof with the exterior walls raked to accommodate the slope with the rafter/joists running parallel to the baseline. Chief wants to run the rafters perpendicular to the baseline by default and I know there's way but can't remember how. THANKS RAFTER 1.plan
  11. I'm simply looking at the tool through different eyes and it seems to me a clipping tool should clip the view according to the clip lines presented in the elevation view. That's all. Is it the wrong way to look at things? Is it working "exactly as intended", as if anyone on this forum could possess such knowledge of that intention? Perhaps, but the question is entirely moot as I now understand the tool and how it works, intended or not, and hopefully your explanation and the information provided in this thread will help someone understand the function just a little bit better.
  12. ...and I think adjusting the template plan will help in the future...
  13. The 'feature' works really well once understood, and once understood, none of that is needed but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so will thrash through.....
  14. Thanks Michael and perhaps you're right but I think a Clipped View>Clip Elevation should be 'Clipped' and limited to the data inside the clipped box and NOT send "everything that's being displayed in your view" as if the clipped box has no real relevance as to the data/info being sent to Layout. One man's opinion and easy to deal with once the behavior is understood.
  15. Which makes me wonder why the 'feature' is even included for elevations as it will send all of the data that's on the page pretty much no matter whether or not the 'Clip Elevation' box is checked or not and no matter where the clipped lines are located. I don't think this is intended behavior. I would like to see the clipped lines box be honored and send only the info in that box to Layout. I sent it in to tech.
  16. Figured it out. There's a conflict between the Clipped View and Send Options>Entire Plan/View. When sending Entire Plan/View it sends all of the items in the view whether inside the clipped box or not.
  17. It seems I have all the settings correct and also works when 'clipped to room' is selected but the Elevations don't seem to 'clip' as expected. Any help greatly appreciated.
  18. Looks like this is addressed in the newest update. Thanks Chief. 2.19 3D Views • Fixed an issue that could cause elevation views to be extremely zoomed in when opened from layout.
  19. Also curious, what's the purpose of the "Clip Elevation" setting if not intended to send that 'clipped' view to Layout?
  20. Thank Michael, apologies for the late reply, been out of town. I think I see the setting you are referring to but can't seem to get what I'm looking for? Missing something as usual? or is what I'm asking for not doable at this stage in X15? Thanks
  21. I know there's few new Layout Box features but was wondering if there's way to send an elevation to Layout 'clipped' to the elevation clip lines? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zQpeWuposQ
  22. Thanks Joe, been working on this all morning with no solution worth the effort. I'll make sure the dims are close and the printed dims are overridden to show the proper dimensions.
  23. Maybe I should just get them close and over ride the dims for the plans? Has to be a way!
