  1. Thanks, in the almost 25 years I've used Chief I've never, ever, used a paint layer. Didn't like the idea and won't use it again.
  2. What is this layer intended for?
  3. Thanks very much Rene! Yeah, had my eye on the 4070ti and I really only need one of my 3 monitors to meet modern enough specs. to view any RTRT renders. Thanks again. Can't believe we're on the eve of X16 though March seems like a likely release time frame to me.
  4. Thanks Jim, pretty confusing out there and I have some legacy monitors that I need to make sure are compatible with the new display port and HDMI cards.
  5. I've had my 1080 forever and it has suited me really well but it's time to upgrade. I don't need the fanciest nor the fastest but was wondering where the current sweet spot is in terms of price to performance value? Thank You
  6. I remember this plan from a Week or so ago, I think something that wasn't mentioned was when changing floor thickness like you're doing, you want to lock the Bottom of the platform, forcing it to build Up By default it keeps the top of the structure, i.e., the Floor, at the default floor height, pushing the structure down, potentially messing up the ceiling heights below This was Soooo helpful. Not sure I really knew what that setting was for!
  7. Thanks Michael and same here with the random floor levels changing and in this case the framing forms some of the floor levels I'm trying to accomplish. See section pic above.
  8. Thanks Rene, I've attached a screen shot of the second floor plan view with the section I'm trying to duplicate. Perhaps Picture/PDF boxes Layer is not turned on?
  9. Thanks, so I guess you did know that I had that happen, rounding to the nearest 1/16 as shown in the dbx, but the value was 1/32 or 1/64. I'll keep that in mind because I know it will come up.
  10. Need to get the floor levels correct in a plan I'm trying to duplicate and am fairly lost in how to execute. Any help greatly appreciated. The section should be part of the plans and has the floor levels I'm trying to duplicate. Thank You https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/e15dn05x1rh9vqs1d1lpx/FLOOR-LEVELS-1.plan?rlkey=bocsgd6xzr2srjyi7f6w11dp6&dl=0
  11. Just learned that from tech support and could be a game changer in a few cases.
  12. Sent the plan in to tech and they couldn't resolve the inconsistency. They suggested I create a roof overhang of 1/64" which works great even though Chief won't show 1/64" in the dbx the measurement actually sticks, which is something I didn't know.
  13. Thanks Tea, and I'm thinking since I've done the leg work on the real plan I should just stick with this idea.
  14. Thanks Glenn, can't find a way to get that to work as it's the entire room that needs the raised floor, not just room with the room.
  15. Thanks Joe, that might work in the demo plan but the floor plan I'm trying to duplicate is very odd shaped and I need to spec the framing with more detail.
  16. I've attached a pic of what I'm trying to duplicate and have a test plan file linked below where I used a pretty complex series of floor structures and air gaps and framing but there has to be an easier way? https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/nloivz0c2gm2ykyqk6lwd/RAISED-PLATFORM-1.plan?rlkey=xv2jizk1jp7e1zfbhdzei6xm9&dl=0
  17. This is mostly a curiosity question now as I can deal with the original house plan but the video shows what I consider to be inconsistent behavior. And thanks again for taking a look.
  18. Thanks Mick, the inconsistency is shown in the pic and the plan. All of the roofs are set up the same (I think) and all auto generated but the second floor (which is a parapet in the house photo but not a parapet in this test plan) shows the walls flush with and rising to the roof surface but the first floor walls come up short with the rafters exposed. And the roof planes are intended to be flush with the walls so pulling them off and inch or 2 will create a fascia but not flush like floor 2 shows. So curious why, in the test plan, the second floor frames and finishes correctly but the first floor doesn't?
  19. Thanks Mick and good point. The lower roof has a shallow hip and the upper roof is a parapet. Parapet is easy but the other roofs seem to be inconsistent. In my test plan as the pic shows the upper floor roof planes seem to resolve themselves but the lower roof shows the rafters without the stucco finish reaching the finish roofing material. I think all the settings are the same for each roof plane so not understanding the inconsistencies. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/in87uulmwv618toanqdcg/zero-roof-overhang.plan?rlkey=w4qrind0ao5tok36gc8m81f1x&dl=0
  20. I might have figured something out but it's inconsistent and doesn't seem like such an unusual condition. Anyone else have a solution?
  21. I think I might have accidently closed the tool bar with the red 'X' but was able to find it in the 'toolbars' list and 'check marked' it back on in plan view. Thanks very much for the help!!!
  22. This happens occasionally and can't understand it. I have a small custom toolbar that floats in the plan area and it just disappeared - again. I have Lock Toolbars checked but every once in a while that floating tool bar disappears - from every where, including my template plans. Small PIA but a PIA none the less. Any advice?
