  1. Thank you, Eric. I don't want to see the studs in this elevation. In fact, I have not even generated any framing at this stage as the house is existing. I just want to get rid of the wall coverings, wallboard, floor and ceiling surfaces - automatically if possible.
  2. David - thanks for the reply. I am quite familiar with turning on/off layers. There doesn't seem to be a layer for wall coverings or drywall - I've tried main layers only. I was hoping to find a way to automate this without modifying my existing walls. The wall covering and wallboard should have a layer of its own.
  3. I’m creating a framing elevation for a shower niche and medicine cabinet rough-in. I want to show the framing members only without wall, floor, and ceiling surfaces. I am unfortunately unable to hide these layers. I also have a wall covering below a chair rail molding that won’t go away. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kevin
  4. Thanks again, Rob. I very much appreciate it!
  5. Thanks Renee. Are you proposing that I use different layouts and then combine them in a PDF when ready for print?
  6. I believe they are the same by default 1/100 mm and I've never changed this. I'm not sure I get it yet, but you're telling me that if I tick "Use Layout Line Scaling" and the layout box matches the plan view scale, all line weights will be consistent even though the scale from page to page in the layout may vary?
  7. So, under the layout do I need to set the scale to ½” if that’s how I’m sending the layout box from plan view or leave it as the default 1:1?
  8. And what if the layout has varying scales amongst the pages? Thanks again, Kevin
  9. Thanks Rob. That's what I was getting at. I was unsure if the line weights would read differently when sent to layout. So, you're telling me it makes no difference how I have the drawing sheet setup? If so, what is the point of it?
  10. Is it possible to make the drawing sheet setup linked to the plan view? I've got a plan view of the entire 1st floor being printed on ARCH D paper at a 3/8" scale. I also need a close-up plan view of the kitchen which will be at 1/2" scale and will require the ANSI B paper size. How is this done? Thanks, Kevin
  11. Thanks Mick. Sorry for the delay. I'm not getting notifications again. I'll give that a try! Kevin
  12. I do most of my work on a desktop at home but when I travel, I must export my custom libraries to my laptop so that I have the most recent version of my User Catalog. I have 21 folders under the User Catalog, and I export them individually as the total library is over 9GB. They exported fine as they always do but this time around the import onto the laptop is taking FOREVER. I usually drag and drop three at a time so as not to overwhelm Chief. The first file named “Untitled 1.calibz” is taking well over 30 minutes to import into my User Catalog and the files size is only 86MB. It did not take nearly as long two weeks ago when I went through the same process. Has something changed in the software? I don’t recall any updates in the last three or four weeks. At this pace it will take several hours to get all 21 library files into Chief on my laptop. Just two weeks ago I was able to accomplish this in under an hour. I have also noticed that the “Import Library Data” dialog box is showing file names that aren’t even included in the solo “Untitled 1.calibz. It’s like Chief is reading all 21 files before importing the one I am currently adding to the User Library. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I realize my User Catalog is huge, but Chief has been able to handle it with no problems for years now. Have I reached some type of ceiling? Thanks, Kevin
  13. Thanks! I could have sworn that we used to be able to double click on it!
  14. Are we no longer able to change the stair railing profile? Would someone please take a look at the sample file attached to confirm? Thanks, Kevin stair railing.zip
  15. I didn't even realize you could turn off an entire floor.
  16. This is a basement level. When I turn off the layers one by one I find that the layer "Foundation" turns everything off on this floor. I guess this was the problem.
  17. Here's the download link: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/8t8k1pusihbbw130kn9nt/h?rlkey=h0nuxj7mlfz5cg3p1664wlh11&dl=0 Thanks, Kevin
  18. The plan is too large to post here. I can upload to DB and provide a link.
  19. I may have found another issue with the latest release of X15. I am creating a cross section and want to display “Cabinets, Custom Backsplashes” only so that I can send off for a quote – see attached video. As you can see the screen will not update with a change in the layer’s visibility. On an individual basis there is no problem; however, when I select all layers to turn them all off and then select a couple that I want visible, nothing appears. I've been using this technique for years with no problems. Can anyone confirm this? 14.08.2023_08.05.21_REC.mp4
  20. Thanks Rich. I just PM'ed you with an upload link. Kevin
  21. Eric - is it even possible to go back to the last version of X15? A download somewhere?
  22. IMAGES showing proportion not matching original symbol. I have tried inverting dimensions too.
  23. I tried creating it in plan view (btw - it was drawn in another program before and imported) and it still doesn't work. It becomes oversized. I tried stacking it with other molding profiles and the shape becomes skewed no matter what I enter for width, length, repeat. It did come in oversized the first time and I had to adjust it down. Definitely something off here. I will report this too.
  24. Thanks Eric. I'll give it a try. I would never have thought that would affect it.
