  1. Thanks again Doug. I really appreciate the help. I was looking at it for so long it's sometimes easy to miss something obvious. That 3rd shape was a polyline solid I used as a reference for the hole in case I needed to draw it again. Chief seems to have done a good job with these dormers. I have never had them perfect before and now I have 3 really good ones! Kevin
  2. Thanks again Doug. You are right. There's an extra roof hole that was causing the problem. I'll be sure to look out for this in the future.
  3. Thanks Eric. Really appreciate it!
  4. Eric - I'm not getting the same result. Are you copying everything at once including the roof hole or just the walls? Are you using reflect about or center object? Thanks.
  5. Thanks Doug. That did work for the exterior problems. Did you notice the wall problems on the interior? The right dormer when viewed from inside is perfect. The left, not so much. Thanks again, Kevin
  6. Thanks for taking a look. That is how I created the 2nd dormer in the first place.
  7. Thanks Eric. The file is only about 39MB and here's the link - https://www.dropbox.com/s/6axrhseb634eaax/TEMP.zip?dl=0 I'd appreciate you taking a look. Kevin
  8. I have two dormers that are identical. One I was able to pull off perfectly. The second, although identical, has some artifacts that I cannot identify. I have checked the walls including attic walls, the roof planes, room moldings, etc. and I cannot find the problem, nor do I even know what those flat boards floating above my roof could possibly be. Has anyone run into this before and found a solution? Further, I don’t understand why Chief rebuilds both dormers differently although identical (as far as I can tell). I can upload the file to Dropbox if anyone has the time to take a look. Thanks, Kevin
  9. Thanks Rob. That's what I ended up doing. I thought there might be a tool for extracting from elevation view. Would be nice as this is usually how the engineer presents to me. Kevin
  10. I’ve got a set of plans from an engineer. I am attempting to approximate the terrain by tracing a line over what is drawn in an elevation view – see attached. So far so good, but there are no terrain tools available to me in the elevation view. Is there an easy way to translate this to the plan view? I have tried creating a P-Solid and deriving contour lines from it – no luck. How would you go about doing this? It does not need to be perfect - only an approximation. Thanks, Kevin
  11. It's the standard renderer in 60 FPS. I am going to try XVid to see if there's any improvement. I have to lower the brightness of my computer monitor as lately it has been hurting my eyes. It's probably washed out on a standard screen. Will changing the compression rate have any effect? I'm using the default 75%. Happy Fourth!
  12. It's still choppy. Here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/141nt68eh28htl0/Rice Orbital Walkthrough_Existing Home_07-01-22.wmv?dl=0
  13. Not Z-fighting. I will bump up to 60 FPS and see what happens. Thanks!
  14. I was trying to post the video on Chief from my locker, but cannot upload that type of file. How did you post yours in the first reply?
  15. @Chopsaw @robdyck @solver In addition to the flickering, I am getting a moire pattern with my roof and brick textures. Any advice on getting a cleaner video? I'm using the Windows Media 9 Codec.
  16. Thanks again, Rob! I got it working. I set it to 30 FPS. What will help with the flickering? Kevin
  17. Thanks Rob. That's exactly what I want to do. How do I change the rotation speed of the camera though? I can't find such a setting in the camera DBX. When ready to record, do I do that while the camera is spinning? Kevin Thanks again, Rob! I got it working. I set it to 30 FPS. What will help with the flickering? Kevin
  18. I was on the wrong floor! Thanks Chop!
  19. Also, does Chief have an infinite floor (or terrain) that can be used in camera views?
  20. My terrain shows up in camera view, but not in plan view. The layer is checked on. I need to edit its shape, but can't get it to show up in plan view. Anyone know why? Thanks, Kevin
