  1. Thanks for your time David. If I change the porch room foundation to monolithic CA changed all 4 sides of the room. Only two sides get mono foundations.
  2. I apologize for rehashing these foundations again but I can not seem to get this figured out. A simple porch which most houses have, with monolithic foundations that should butt to the house stem wall foundation. How do you get this to clean up? The house foundation should be stem wall and the porch two walls should die into the house foundations. Wyoming.plan
  3. Gurrrr, so easy by why the problem?
  4. I have a balcony in side a screened patio. It was correct at one point but my fiddling with the first floor room I messed up the balcony. The balcony railings are no longer attached to the floor system below, see picture. River House.plan
  5. Ok, Thanks for you detective work Glenn. That worked
  6. I had to revisit this plan for some framing details I needed & somehow the exterior wall of the tower has been cut like there was a ceiling plane or something. I can't figure out why it is being cut? MacDill TH-Unit A.zip
  7. More on the subject: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/3493-wall-under-stair-disappears-when-railing-is-added/#entry29933
  8. Thanks for the input. The 2nd floor wall is cantilevered out 24" so the floor system is automatic & the wall will not be OVER wall below. If you delete the material region the unwanted horizontal line at the 2nd floor wall to floor system is still there. but the expected horizontal line at the actual cantilever is not there. If you look at the side elevation another set of lines define the floor system at the cantilever. If you paint the square forming the cantilever the lines change,
  9. Thanks David but I'm tired of removing all the errant lines every time I have to update the elevations. There are some at the stair on the side of the house too. X8 file attached. Ybor Townhome.zip
  10. I have some unwanted lines in the elevations. The one shown on the attachment is the joint between the wall (2x6 frame over the generated floor which is 24" overhanging the first floor. So why is that line being generated. I have to erase it every time i regenerate the elevations.
  11. Oh I see it now. Wow it laterally makes it invisible. Don't like that so much. Why oh why can't we have a non plotting line style that is visible?
  12. Thanks for all the tips, setting size to 1 or 1/2 helps a lot. Looked but did not find Line Style "Invisible" ?
  13. Can you resize the style so all are small?
  14. When using point to point dimensions I do not want the cross to print. Can this be done?
  15. Thanks for the info. So did they give us an off button?
  16. Sending to layout I get a fuzzy images unless I use plot lines. They print OK but viewing is not pleasant. This behavior just started. Any ideas?
  17. I auto build ONE time only, then nothing but manual adjustments. I do place my notes in blocks & save to catalog.
  18. How would you model this structure? I have been using 2nd floor with no ceiling and adding a slope ceiling plane. I guess there is no hope for sloped steel bar joist. I will do the section in CAD but wanted the CA section close to actual. Any tips?
  19. <Wild guess> Block all the notes & save to catalog<Wild guess Off>
  20. I would guess a room divider I railing below and a p-solid above. You would need to be in section view to create the solid so you can get the angle of the stair. My 2 cents.
  21. LOL, it's happy hour here in Florida. Signing off
  22. Just sent support request before I saw this thread. Same problem in X8, not a problem in X7 unless I blocked the text. I too use Arial. Don't care for the Chief Font.
  23. I think I have it looking OK. One artifact I don't know what it is. Just wish we could block the windows & doors.
  24. Thanks Perry I'll give that a try. Johnny that is the look I need. Mine are 2" casings 1/16 wide and windows overlap by 2". Is that what you are doing?
  25. More & more I am using storefront systems but have issues. I can set the frames to 2 " or Casings to 2" x 1/16 thick to represent the windows. Then I overlap to simulate the 2" partitions but you an not mull this unit. The door, see attached, needs to have a 2 or 3 inch border plus a 2' frame, how do you achieve his with glass panel? Back in a few hours. Thanks
